Dr. Charlotte Frise has literally changed my life. I could not recommend her more. As a 33-year old trying to get pregnant, I've had unexplainable high-blood pressure for almost ten years, with no doctors in Australia (where I'm from) or London (where I live) previously being unable to solve this mystery. In preparing for pregnancy via IFV, I consulted Charlotte given her specialty in high-risk patients. She took our appointment after hours, digested all of the various tests results, heard my feelings and anecdotes I gave her on my condition, and then provided some firm but gentle feedback to consult one final specialist she knew had achieved quite remarkable results with other young women facing my challenges, in addition to a very clear picture of what I could expect if I were to proceed with pregnancy in my (then) current state. In the space of six months, the cause of my high BP was found and I have since had a minor procedure and stent inserted, which has cured me. I am now no longer considered 'high-risk' but will proceed with Charlotte given my history, which I could not be happier to do so. If you are looking for a doctor who can translate the science and medicine into real life – she is it!

I cannot recommend Dr Maria Amasanti highly enough. After struggling for quite some time with ongoing health issues that no one seemed able to resolve, I visited Dr Amasanti and the experience was nothing short of life-changing. If I had had my post procedure check with the Consultant who did the procedure at Kingsbridge and not at Specsavers, who referred me. I would not have had to make the recent appointment. I would have been able to ask the questions and get answers that Specsavers were not able to reassure me about. My recent appointment with Mr. Spence did exactly that. I explained my concerns about my after procedure experience and he was able to explain in detail and reassure me. Had my 6 weeks post procedure appointment be been with my consultant at Kingsbridge I would have been able to have my concerns answered then and would not have gone through weeks of worry, 2 visits to Specsavers (one which I was charged £25 for a full eye health check which I did not need) The reason I booked the last appointment at Kingsbridge was because I had concerns and was getting no answers. I therefore feel it is important that the post procedure check should be with the consultant who carried out the procedure, so that any worries or concerns can be addressed.

It was more chaotic than I am used to with private medicine. I arrived at 3.00 and had to wait for quite a long time ... 20 or 30 minutes ... until I had my first test. Very irritating and unsettling to see patients who had arrived after me get called first. Then there was the business of moving from one waiting room to another ... then another floor ... then wait because a patient was taking longer than expected/planned for - with a test (the patient was virtually blind, so took longer - BUT WHY WASN'T THAT ANTICIPATED). All the staff were apologetic and working hard, but the system was terrible. Lots of different machines, in different rooms ... with the databases not communicating with each other. Not good at all. Other private medicine I've experienced is much slicker. They have invested more in sorting out the tech and the UX.

The whole experience has been great from start to finish Little Aston is such a pleasant venue with all the staff friendly and helpful Mr Balaggan is wonderful. I am 94 years old but he treated me as an equal intelligent person. He explained everything clearly, and told me what the expected outcomes were I never felt nervous in his care. All the people involved in the operation were equally friendly and professional. I am delighted with the outcome of my operations but was told my eyes would continue to improve for a long time I started my car yesterday and was amazed by the clarity of my vision already I can also read small print without glasses. From the minute I arrived for my operation I was looked after by friendly professional staff. I was desperate to have the operation to replace my hip as I had been suffering for months due to misdiagnosis by my GP. From seeing a consultant privately the waiting time was 5 weeks, which was amazing. I had a spinal block & was asleep throughout the operation. The post operative care was excellent & pain relief was discussed with me until I was happy with the medication prescribed. The support from the physio department enabled me to go home with confidence. For anyone who is suffering like I was, I can wholeheartedly recommend Barlborough Hospital.

Paul has been a complete lifesaver. I came to him with neck / back pain but only a couple of months to train for a 6 mile charity swim... Within the first session, Paul identified the cause of the problem and had me back in the water that week (with a snorkel!). He was able to relieve the pain and the exercises targeted the issue but were feasible around my day-to-day / other training. His swimming experience was invaluable, and I really don’t think I would have been in a position to complete the big swim without his help, guidance and encouragement! I couldn’t recommend him enough. Thank you Paul!
