I recently had sepsis and was hospitalised at St George's for 2 weeks. As we could not find the cause of the sepsis and the marks on my swollen hand could be Osler nodes, which suggests potential infection in my heart valve, I looked for second opinion to see if I should do a TOE to make sure there has been no sign of endocarditis. I did my research to find a good cardiologist and am pleased to confirm that with the help of the prior patient reviews about Dr Lowe and very happy to have consulted him. Dr Lowe is very knowledgeable, and he explained and answered very clearly all my concerns and had arranged a number of tests TEE, TOE, and CT coronary angiogram all within the space of 2 weeks. I had timing constraints but we managed to fit all of them in. His PA Helen has been extremely helpful to fit me in and she was very responsive and proactive in making all these happen in due time. I also asked if I should do a PET scan of my whole body (as my doctor friend recommended) to find out if there is anything wrong with me and I appreciate Dr Lowe's candid explanation of balancing risks and potential outcome and I did not go ahead with it. i.e. not just going ahead for the sake of it. I highly recommend Dr Lowe and his team.

After months of waiting on the NHS I went to see Mr Bailey. After my initial consultation I felt such relief as not only was there a clear plan of what we were going to do, but relief came from being actively listened to about my injury and my concerns. Ultimately we made the decision that keyhole surgery for my medial meniscal tear was the best option. The daily pain I was in, I often described as a persistent dull ache but it was gone almost immediately after surgery. Since the surgery I have felt like a new person. Mr Bailey remembered a comment I made about my concerns on looking after my young children with the lack of mobility. I was pleased not only to get my full motion back thanks to his skill but found him so personable with the fact that he remembered this comment several months later at my final consultation. He explained the problem, answered my questions, and in a way in which I felt comfortable, reassured, and not at all rushed. He was extremely pleasant, and regarding the necessary treatment, I had no doubt I was in excellent hands. I have had a few spinal issues so spent a fair amaount of time waiting for scans etc Not at the Fortius Clinics , the medical care is amazing and quick for scans and then reviews. I was provided with an initial diagnosis and for added assurance refrerred for imaging. Managed to get an MRI in good time. The MRI appointment was efficient and professional.

If you are hard of hearing it can be hard to hear your appointment being called due to the layout of the waiting room (some chairs facing away, some around the corner but I need to sit due to health issues so had no choice in my seat), but staff were polite and toilet/waiting area was very clean.
