Mr Ertan Erel

Mr Erel is London-based consultant plastic surgeon with a special interest in rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty, breast surgery, and body contouring. His is regularly performing rhinoplasty procedures to improve the aesthetic and functional outcomes of his patients. He focuses on the natural look of the nose which blends with the patient’s face. Mr Erel operates on different ethnic groups of patients and performs open rhinoplasty, septorhinoplasty, and revision rhinoplasty surgery, including reconstruction using rib grafting for complex cases.

Mr Erel is originally from Turkey. Following completing his medical school in Turkey, he moved to England. He completed all his surgical training in the UK and worked as a plastic surgery consultant in the NHS for over 10 years. As part of his NHS job, he operated jointly with ENT surgeons undertaking complex nasal reconstruction cases after trauma or deformity. He also trains other plastic surgeons on how to perform rhinoplasty operations. Mr Erel was the clinical lead in breast reconstruction surgery until he left the NHS in April 2023.  He is now more focused on aesthetic rhinoplasty surgery and blepharoplasty procedures.

Mr Erel refined his plastic surgical techniques over 25 years of experience, and he regularly performs other cosmetic procedures involving breast, abdomen, and body contouring. He also offers other facial plastic surgery procedures such as blepharoplasty, prominent ear correction, hairline lowering, face/neck lift, lip lift, and reduction and buccal fat removal.

Rhinoplasty procedure is very commonly performed and thought in Turkey. Mr Erel regularly attends plastic surgery conferences involving rhinoplasty in Istanbul since 1998. Being a native speaker, he linked up with the experienced, well-known, rhinoplasty surgeons in Istanbul Turkey, and joined their operating sessions (Prof Ismail Kuran and Prof Nazim Cerkes). As part of his visiting fellowship in Istanbul, under the tutelage of one of the pioneers of rhinoplasty surgery, Professor Onur Erol, Mr Erel has expertise in the “Turkish delight” rhinoplasty. He also offers ultrasonic rhinoplasty (Piazotome) for more refined and precise surgery. He is an internationally recognized plastic surgeon having published 26 journal publications and given 50 presentations, both nationally and internationally. In 2016, he also contributed a chapter to the book Breast Reconstruction: Art, Science, and New Clinic Technique.
