About Dr Imran Hussain
Dr Imran Hussain is a highly experienced Consultant in General Internal Medicine and Respiratory Medicine, with over 20 years of experience. He completed his medical degree at the University of London in 1990 followed by his specialist training. He became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians in 1993 and was awarded his PhD by the University of Southampton in 2003. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2007 and is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians.
Dr Hussain currently sees private patients at Nuffield Health North Staffordshire Hospital. He has clinical interests in lung cancer diagnosis, COPD, asthma (including severe asthma) and breathlessness. He also helps run and coordinate the secondary care post-COVID clinics, helping patients get back to optimal respiratory health.

I have nothing but full admiration for Dr Hussain, he has cared for me with the greatest compassion & care throughout my 4.5 years covid journey. Picking me up when I was very poorly & guiding me back to my new “normal”. After having a recent relapse I asked to be referred back to the hospital as the pain had dramatically increased. He has guided me through my latest episodes & once again advised me to try a few things. I can only thank him & his team so much as I am sure without his advise I would not have recovered to the extent I have. I found Dr Hussain very emphatic. He really understood the problems that I was having with my respiratory system and has formulated an action plan which, hopefully will make my life much comfortable. He was well prepared for my visit and listened carefully to what I told him. This made the visit very much more productive. He is a good communicator and has informed me clearly of the steps that I need to take in order to help myself to complement the treatment programme. Dr Hussain has a passion for helping others and it shows.
Dr Hussain was easy to understand and explained my problem with a view of my scan which was very clear. I was referred on for more tests.
