I attended the Neurology Clinic at Cleveland Clinic, Portland Place London for a second medical opinion (covered by my insurance) and I had ALL medical reports with me. The booking process was straightforward, and the reception team were excellent—very responsive and professional, with great customer service. I also appreciated that the clinic arranged for my MRI images to be transferred ahead of my appointment, so the consultant would have access to my medical history. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with how the consultation itself went. I came with up-to-date MRI scans (completed recently through an NHS neuroscience unit), along with relevant medical reports and test results. However, the doctor did NOT properly review my MRI images, stating they were “bad quality,” and instead suggested I pay privately for repeat MRI scans at Cleveland Clinic London 3Tesla MRI scanner (my all mri's were done on 3Tesla scanners). He also recommended another lumbar puncture, again privately, despite the fact that I have already had one. Overall, I left with the strong impression that the focus was on arranging further paid tests rather than reviewing the information already available and providing a clear second opinion. In the end, I did not receive any meaningful second medical opinion, no conclusions were offered, and I felt I had not been listened to. To be fair, Dr Wallace Brownlee was polite, kind, and his manner was professional. The neurological examination was fine. However, I still left without any explanation or diagnostic opinion, despite no recent change in my clinical picture that would obviously justify repeating tests before offering an assessment. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Dr Wallace Brownlee for someone seeking a genuine second opinion.

Mr Basavaiah Natesh

ENT Surgeon Mr Natesh is absolutely fantastic!!! Honestly I cannot put into words how incredible he is at his job. He is a superb ent surgeon who has extensive knowledge in his area of ears nose and throat neck head etc. I am so glad I came across Mr Natesh he is the best no1 ent surgeon. From consultations to pre op to post op he answered all my questions and listened and was kind and patient throughout even when I asked a million questions as im an anxious person. I had fess endoscopic Sinus surgery and chose Mr Natesh because as soon as I had my consultation with him I trusted his expertise and knowledge and got a good feeling about him. I self funded and it was worth it to ensure I got Mr Natesh. I had my follow up and even before my op and after he still contacted me to answer questions that I continously had. He had no judgement and was understanding he whole time. Even when I was scared to do the sinus rinses he reassured me throughout. He explained things clearly so I understood any results and biopsy I got and he never rushed. He took his time and explained everything to me and answered everything I asked. Im so glad I chose to have surgery with Mr Natesh he made me feel reassured and confident. 5*+++ I highly recommend Mr Natesh and hes the only ENT surgeon I will visit if I ever need to again. Professional friendly understanding and kind you are in good hands.

I had knee replacement surgery at the Practice Plus hospital at Barlborough on 29th November. The pain I experienced during the two weeks following the surgery on a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate at 8 to 9. Now that I am in my eight week of recovery my pain level is 1 or2 I had a problem in that during the first 2 weeks after surgery I was hardly able to sleep due to the pain when lying down and some nights I had zero hours of sleep. After discussion with the hospital pharmacist it became evident that one of the pain killing medicines I had been prescribed had insomnia as one of it’s side effects. After stopping this medication and taking an alternative my sleep pattern returned to normal and my recovery accelerated. From the experiences of friends who had undergone this surgery I knew that physiotherapy was the key to a successful outcome. The physiotherapy I received at Barlborough was exceptional. By following their exercise plans and receiving guidance at my follow-up visits I am now able walk for one hour virtually pain free, ride my static bike at home and if all goes well should be able to ride my bike on the road in a few weeks time. I was made to wait 6 months for my cataract operations because I had a cardioversion. This is a short sedation rather than a general anaesthetic. I have been given no clinical explanations for this. I am in perfect health despite my age. I understand that a normal waiting time at other hospitals is 6 weeks with good recovery after a major operation. I suspect there are no clinical reasons, just a bureaucratic hesitation to take the slightest risk. I wonder how many patients discover that “Well soon” should be retitled “Well sometime”. Your bureaucratic incompetence is illustrated by your list of specialists which does not include the name of my surgeon, your lead ophthalmologist Dr Marzena Raszewska. It is her recorded ability that persuaded me to wait the 6 months rather than seek an alternative.

I had my Pre-assessment on 14/91/26 at 09.30. I arrived early because of the inadequate parking at the hospital but was pleasantly surprised to be able to park straight away so, I arrived at 09.00 for my appt. I registered with reception then the nurse, Sharon, called me. Sharon talked me through my Pre-assessment and explained in detail what would happen when I'm admitted for my op. She gave me an ECG, took MRSA swabs and I had my bloods taken. Sharon explained several forms to me and provided Octensian wash and nasal gel for me to use prior to admission and after. The whole experience was positive. Sharon was very professional with an easy, friendly manner and kindly answered my questions that she had not already covered.

I have been under Mr Charalamous's care for around 3 years. I have always found him to be easy to talk to & he explains things in a way i can understand. I had a botched knee replacement at Kim's in Maidstone which was very painful. After a few meetings to discuss what could be done we agreed a procedure. I have to say i am over the moon with the results. The recovery time was extremely short, after the insert replacement i was up & walking with no sticks inside 2 weeks. I am extremely happy & will request Mr Charalamous for me left knee once it gets to a point where it needs replacement. Top Surgeon.

Disappointed I had to wait 20 minutes for an appointment first thing in the morning, however everything else was positive. Waiting area and treatment room were both tidy and clean. Staff were friendly and professional. Some additional work required and dentist took me through options for treatment and resulting cost. Dental work was very good and pain free(!).
