I have had Cataract operations to both eyes January-March 2025. Things didn't start well when the Surgeon, in a 'telephone consultation' with me, committed to a price for the new lenses I would get. This was later overruled by the Management who told me the Surgeon didn't have the authority to agree a price with me. So I had to pay quite a bit more than I was originally told. As in some £400 per eye more. Amusing to observe how the 'care' (on the NHS, but sub-contracted to this private business) was promoted as being 'Exactly the same as Private Medical Care'. Oh no it wasn't ...it was much better. Once I was flagged up as 'potentially suitable for a PRIVATE operation' using Implants that were 'Not available on the NHS' I was treated very different. Previously done examinations were repeated 'to be sure'. Does that mean they are not sure if you are a NHS Patient? ;). Additional examinations 'not available on the NHS' were done. Am I being unfair? A short review would just say this: *Generally excellent professional friendly staff. * Medical care excellent. But.... Appointment waiting times need reviewing - I have always had to wait at least 45 min, sometimes more than on hour, before being seen. Why? If you depend on a relative or friend to drop you off and pick you up it sometimes got a bit difficult: Is this appointment going to take 30 Min, or 4 hours? Nobody knows. Admin/organization sometimes a bit confused - Why did I get an email survey for my right eye, and not for my left? Waiting in the corridor between different checks in different rooms a bit of a hit and miss - staff running around, folders being handed over, people sitting and waiting being missed, the order in which things were done got a bit confused sometimes, patients reminding passing nurses that others who arrived after them were seen before them. But all with good humor! But, in the end, I can see excellent again with both eyes - and that is what is really important.

This was so different from when I was here 10 years ago. The nursing staff were so lovely this time, cheerful and friendly and Lou was particularly helpful. All staff everywhere were kind and pleasant. The physiotherapists led by Carmen were astonishing. Their whole approach was helpful and kindly, the exercises were achievable, the support was just excellent including the post op phone call to me at home. I feel really positive about it all. I also commend the food, it was fantastically good especially the lamb stew, very Elizabeth David . And I really liked the inflating things on my feet the first night, very soothing. The one thing I didn't like was the tsunami of emails with essential information, each with a link to a cloud, needing a password . This took ages to navigate, and I gave up. When I mentioned this in person I got a really good booklet which I'm still using. It takes seconds to flip from section to section, it works and is useful. Perhaps if each email made it clear what section it's about, then that might help. But it's quicker to use the paper version.

Having been terrified to get my cataract done, I did a lot of research and found Ed Casswell in Nuffield in Brighton . From our first meeting I liked Ed, he’s professional, friendly and very experienced! As I hate anything to do with eyes I asked for deep sedation and he was fine for me to have this, which was marvellous as I was completely knocked out during the whole process . Recovery was good and I could see out of my new lens straight after the op . Recovery was smooth and no pain at all . I will need the other eye doing sometime in the future and I will definitely be using Ed .

Greeted by friendly staff and seen at my appointment time. Following a basic health check, the procedure was explained in detail and I was taken to a treatment room for the Gastroscopy to begin. Throat spray was applied, blood pressure and oxygen levels were monitored throughout the procedure, then the camera was inserted via the mouth into the oesopagus and stomach. The process was painless but a little discomfort was felt and took no longer that 10 minutes in total. I was then taken to a recovery room and discussed the treatment findings.

Dr Cheent and his team were amazing . The care from the emails & phone calls to the treatment was over and above. Nothing was ever too much trouble and his secretary, like the rest of them worked incredible hours to ensure that she made contact with me around my working hours. Everything was clearly explained to me prior to any tests or treatment. The aftercare was just as incredible. Dr Cheent made me feel calm and at ease at all times. I am so grateful to them all.

I first met Mr Vatish at the womens hospital when he gave me my second breast cancer diagnosis. I had a lot of questions and concerns that he listened to and addressed. I have since had my consultations privately at the Priory Hospital and again, I have felt heard and listened to. My surgery was a bit more complicated due to my history and he found solutions and I am very happy with the results (achieved clear margins first time) and scar has healed well

I had a pleasant experience whilst working with Clemmie dealing with my digestive issues after 2 decades of living with a ‘j pouch’. Clemmie was compassionate about my situation and very supportive. I found Clemmie to be very thorough. I provided her with a detailed diet and supplement regime and she gave me some very good advice, not only with regards to my digestive issues but to my hair thinning also.

I felt in good hands when having my hip replacement operation and was was very well looked after before and after the operation. My one criticism was that ,having met my consultant the day after the operation, the following up meeting was 7 weeks after the day of the operation. An earlier meeting after , say, 4 or 5 weeks , would have been very beneficial .

Dr Simon gave me a thorough explanation of my condition and any risks associated with it. He carried out all required tests and called to chat through my blood test results and to make any recommendations. Through Dr Simon’s clear explanations I’m now far more reassured about the condition, and how to deal with future occurrences. Many thanks.
