It would be helpful to add the following to your briefing: after surgery - we will offer to help you to a taxi or to the taxi rank, if you do not have a person to accompany you (I went downstairs on my own and had to find a taxi - as the rank was not manned) Worth considering clear plastic, wrap around glasses for walking/cycling in windy areas/or where likely to be grit in the air Clear some space in your fridge for the eye drops which will need to be refrigerated If you are travelling invest in a portable coo lbag, with icepack to keep eye drops at the required temperature tell people ahead of time no eye make up on the day or for a month post op / swimming hair washing will be tricky for a few days, so consider dry shampoo explain to people what is normal in terms of recovery day by day over the subsequent days post surgery explain to people what to do, if despite taking the drops, there is a feeling of grit in eyes explain to people - if it is normal or not to see halos or to see with a soft focus - perhaps have images, which are shown ahead of time provide youtube video with how to insert drops - have practise drop session on a pre visit, with non irritant drops, to enable the technique to be mastered The person who provided the medicines did not go through the 'knuckle technique' which is on the document provided, trying to master this when your eye sight is recovering is not straightforward Suggest that patients have ibrufen 200 and or paracetemol at the ready suggest setting alarm on phone at regular intervals for drop taking

I had a minor operation which developed an infection. I had three subsequent clean out operations. As soon as David H-B realised the knee was infected he immediately admitted me to the Fortius and took samples of the infection to get them to the lab asap to work out which anti biotics would prove most effective. He was out of the country for a few days but made surely absolutely everything was in place including two other consultant surgeons who did two clean out operations. A special mention to Dr Aweid who appears to me to be an exceptional consultant. David did my final clean out operation before I was discharged. I felt at ease through the whole process because of David's professionalism and experience. His communication throughout was fantastic he was always on hand to discuss where we were and the plans that were in place. I would also add the who medical and nursing staff were incredibly supportive throughout. I think the surgical skills of all the Fortius consultants will be exceptional. What stands out for me here Is that when the problem of an infection appeared David H-B dealt with it quickly and effectively and kept my mind at ease throughout.

With my recent treatment with Mr Ud-Din I.e a full hip replacement from initial consultation through to being discharged the treatment I received from the Meriden hospital to especially to Mr Farid Ud-Din was absolutely first class.Alll the staff that I was involved with were first class right down to the lady who brought me a cup of tea.,nobody likes being in hospital and all the staff went above and beyond to make you feel comfortable everything from when I arrived to when I left was excellent Mr Ud-din came to see me explained everything to me also I saw him after the operation. He is a very nice pleasant gentleman with lovely beside manners.came to see him yesterday showed me my x ray explained it all had a good conversation about it all ,I felt with him that he had all the time in the world to listen to you and explain everything I would highly recommend him and the hospital to anyone

Initial experience poor. Arrived at reception, receptionist was on the phone. When call ended she walked away to do some admin. No 'Be with you in a moment'. When she came back, no smile and 'Welcome to One Hatfield' Just 'Have you been here before?' 'No' Well here's a form to fill in'. Felt a nuisance getting in the way of her important phone calls and administration work. Waiting area tired looking, main circular seating area looked like it needed a good clean. Strange seating arrangement with very narrow gaps to get through into main area. People called for their appointments from different directions and hard to hear names being called. Consultant seen was excellent, which raised the end experience overall. But not enough to make up for the indifferent receptionist.

Ms Haque was wiling to explore different avenues in diagnosing me. She was quick to follow up and made sure I was feeling better after the treatment. After a difficult procedure, she let me take it easy and lie down until I felt better. She is an empathetic practitioner, with a lot of experience and professionalism. The only thing I would say the clinic could improve on is communications ahead of the appointment. I think I could have been better prepped for the duration and pain involved in the procedure. Also on my initial visit the clinic didn’t have my medical history which I did submit ahead of time.

I only saw Mr Lambert so cannot give feed back on any other member of his team. From being referred by someone who knows him well, I was predisposed to like him and respect his expertise, but hadn't expected to find such a a courteous, thoughtful, kind man who engaged with every aspect of me as a patient. Mr Lambert answered all my questions and was patient and understanding. I felt listened to, for the first time since I had my injury.
