There was a lot of waiting for drops to take effect as part of the treatment but the fact that everytime one of the staff passed they acknowledged you so you didn't feel you had been forgotten, a big plus in my book. There were many times when my DOB and name were checked. This made me feel secure as I think it made me feel that any mix up was very unlikely, another plus in my book. During the set up for the operation I was asked to look into the very bright light. Not a problem for the eye being operated on but keeping my other eye open as requested was difficult for me. Perhaps some form of shading for the other eye could be provided so that the natural instinct to close that eye could be eliminated and thus the natural effect of doing that affecting the eye being operated on. During the operation the surgeon needed to speak to me at times. I am hard of hearing and didn't have my hearing aids in. At times it was hard to hear the surgeon. The issue was worse when the "pump" noise was going. Some of this was the fact that she was a lady with a higher pitch voice, whereas I could easily hear the male voice in the room. I have the same issue hearing my wife for the same reason (I claim!). Perhaps it would be good if the surgeon established if there is a hearing problem and if there is, the voice volume could be raised. I realise that this is my problem but I cannot be unique in this case given the age profile of you patients. This visit was my second eye so I knew what was happening. However, thinking back to my first visit perhaps a slightly better introduction could be given to new patients as to what to expect with the intervals between patient staff interactions to help limit any anxiety they may feel. Also a bit more information regarding the after effects of the operation could help and anxiety at that time. I realise you will wince at this but I found a YouTube video of american origin that went through the after effects step by step and this relieved me as I realised what was happening to me was normal. Overall I was very pleased with the atitude of all the staff I met and the service they provided. Thank you very much.

I came into St Joseph’s on the 10th of January for a Abdominoplasty procedure, from entering the hospital and being greeted professionally by the reception, to the assistant who came down to reception to collect me and show me your my room, went smoothly and l would say, the highest stand l have had at a private hospital. The ward staff attended to me immediately, carried out their pre-op checks, were very informative in terms of time of the procedure etc, l couldn’t have been made more comfortable and cared for. The cleanliness and room was outstanding, l have had a number of stays at private hospitals over a period of 15 years and St Joseph’s is the leader from all parts of the service provided, your hospital should be used to show others how to set the highest standards, which you certainly excel at. Mr Wilson was outstanding too, from our initial consultation to the surgery and aftercare. I recurved a call from St Joseph’s on the 3 day after being discharged to check on my progress, which l wasn’t expecting but very much appreciated it. I have received the highest of care and everyone l met was amazing. Thank you for everything you did for me.

My visit to see Dr Ramcharan was very well organised and an appointment was offered within two weeks. On the day of the consultation, we received a call to confirm our attendance and to provide additional information about parking arrangements, which was greatly appreciated. This made a difficult situation feel far less overwhelming. I attended the appointment with my teenage daughter at The Vesey Hospital, where all members of staff were kind, reassuring and genuinely supportive, during what was understandably a worrying time. Dr Ramcharan engaged directly with my daughter, taking the time to obtain a comprehensive medical history before clarifying further details with me and outlining the structure of the appointment. He demonstrated extensive knowledge, along with an empathetic approach, and carried out a full, holistic examination. His explanations were clear, accessible, and easy for both of us to understand. We are both very grateful for the care my daughter received and I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Ramcharan.

My experience with Quen was exemplary - at the time of first meeting him, my humerus had been fractured for 2-weeks & I was in pain, so he very speedily made himself available for a call to discuss the procedure, and once this had been done, booked me in for surgery the following week. On the morning of the procedure, he once again came to see me to discuss the procedure and let me ask any questions I had, which really reassured me. He then came to see me the morning post the op too, to discuss next steps. Ever since the operation, my arm has steadily been on the mend and this is no doubt down to the great care that Quen & the team have showed throughout. I've also seen Quen for two follow-up X-Rays where he has discussed the progress with me, and with this, I've been able to become more competent & confident in carrying out my day-to-day. I couldn't recommend Quen enough - not only has he been brilliant throughout but he's also a thoroughly lovely man.

I had a really positive experience at The Harborne Hospital. I was greeted warmly on arrival and was actually seen before my appointment time, which was very much appreciated. My consultant Mr Leung truly listened to me and took the time to understand the full picture of how I’ve been feeling. He was extremely thorough, and for the first time in a long while, I left feeling hopeful — hopeful not only that my pain can be better managed, but also that I may finally get a clear diagnosis of what is actually happening to me. I really appreciated how carefully and thoughtfully everything was explored. Every member of staff I met was kind, professional, and supportive. The level of care and compassion shown throughout my visit was outstanding. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this service.

I had quite complex surgery performed by Mr Bhargava three months ago which means I am now able to walk again without pain. Prior to finding Mr Bhargava, I just couldn't seem to find the right help but, thankfully, I was eventually referred to him as a Foot and Ankle Specialist. Following an MRI, he Immediately put my mind at rest when he fully explained I was flat-footed and had a torn tendon which was only going to worsen. I can't praise him and his team highly enough in fact a friend of mine is now also a patient undergoing surgery next week.
