Mr Oliver Robert Blocker is professional in all patient interactions. He provides comprehensive explanations for treatment choices and surgical procedures, including hip replacement, knee replacement, and complex ankle fracture reductions. Patients report improved mobility and freedom from pain, noting an excellent overall experience following his care. Successful outcomes are a consistent theme for both knee replacement and hip replacement surgeries.
Mr Blocker was very helpful and polite and reassuring and very helpful in explaining my choices of treatment.
I was treated at Ysbyty Gwynedd Hospital in Bangor for a complex unstable ankle fracture after a traumatic injury during our Land Rover camping trip in Wales with 12 elder Scouts from the Netherlands, after a successful rescue by the South Snowdonia Search and Rescue Team. Mr Oliver Blocker and his team performed the necessary reductions and clearly explained the treatment plan, including the use of a closed contact cast instead of immediate plates and screws. It was clear that they have a lot of experience with these types of injuries, which I can imagine are seen more often in a mountainous area like Wales. They took my injury very seriously, carefully monitored the position with X-rays, and gave clear advice about follow-up, travel, repatriation and further care in the Netherlands. Although it was a painful and stressful situation, I felt I was in very professional and capable hands. I really appreciated the calm, clear and reassuring approach of Mr Blocker and the whole team. Thank you, Mr Blocker and team of the bangor Ysbyty Gwynedd Hospital . 👍
2 knees by dr blocker at yg amazing individual professional caring no fuss
I was admitted for left knee replacement and very briefly met the surgeon the same morning. At the end of the operation I briefly saw the surgeon again. Since that time I have not met him again.
I can’t thank the staff and all the professionals I saw and especially Mr Blocker for giving me a new lease of life
Actually only needed to see Pam today, what a lovely lady! Was able to answer all my questions and was fast but gentle removing my dressing
My experience in Ysbyty Gwynedd from start to finish was excellent. I was treated with kindness and dignity from all the staff and would like to thank everyone who has helped me whilst there. And my sincere gratitude to Mr Blocker who has helped me get mobile again. Thank you 🙏
Mr Blocker is a gentleman, when i met him on the day he explained everything to me and my wife before and after the surgery, and his team was fantastic
Mr Blocker is a highly experienced and trusted colleague where we have worked together in the independent sector. He is incredibly hard working and delivers a very high level of care to his patients in all areas. We regularly discuss complex patients to achieve excellent outcomes. I would recommend him without hesitation.
