Mr Deepu Bhaskar is a highly accomplished Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in hip and knee reconstruction. Mr Bhaskar completed his medical degree (MBBS) at the University of Kerala in 1996 and qualified in 1998. He subsequently undertook postgraduate orthopaedic training, obtaining a Master of Surgery in Orthopaedics (MS Ortho) from the Grant Medical College. Upon relocating to the United Kingdom, he achieved his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in Trauma and Orthopaedics and completed a Master of Surgery (MCh) in Trauma and Orthopaedics at Edge Hill University. He also holds a Diploma from the Societe Internationale de Chirurgie Orthopedique et de Traumatologie (SICOT) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Science Practice. He completed the prestigious Cavendish Fellowship, focusing on complex joint reconstructions and infected arthroplasty. Mr Bhaskar is an active member of several professional bodies, including the British Orthopaedic Association, the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and the British Hip Society.
In addition to his clinical work, Mr Bhaskar is deeply committed to medical education, research, and clinical governance. He serves as a Clinical Supervisor, training future generations of orthopaedic surgeons, and is an Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Instructor. He regularly contributes as a faculty member on various advanced surgical skills and preparation courses across the country. As an alumnus of the British Orthopaedic Association Future Leaders programme and a former Clinical Governance Lead, he maintains a strong focus on clinical effectiveness, patient safety, and risk management. He also actively participates in clinical research, serving as a principal investigator for multiple clinical trials.
