Throughout my nursing career I have worked with many consultants in both the public and private sectors, I was exceptionally disappointed in the lack of care, compassion and empathy I was shown during my appointment! * He shook the previous patients hand, he did not even offer his hand to me, nor did he introduce himself. * He recorded the whole consultation on his phone without asking for consent. * He didn’t undertake a thorough examination, all he did was ask me to bend and straighten my leg, pushed my knee to see where the pain was. No assessing me walking, rotating nothing. * No assessing my pain, or asking what analgesia I take. * The treatment decision was made on an X-ray which is from 2024, I had to push for him to read my MRI from Oct 2025. Which he only skim read. * Said I need to stop exercising as it doesn’t help, I need to go on monjaro (which is clinically not advised for me with a HBa1C of 26!) for weight loss, and then I need a knee replacement. Also I need to eat less without asking what I eat. * Said arthroscopy would be futile, and the meniscal tear is part of life! Despite not looking at the MRI to see the extent of the tear. I then asked about having my 33mm cyst aspirated which he said he can arrange if I want it. Which I said I do! * I was out in less than 10 mins!!!

Thanks to everyone at Freedom Vision in Bromley for giving me a positive experience throughout my time with them.  I was very nervous to have the procedure, but it went smoothly and led to an excellent outcome.  Having had my cataracts removed from both eyes and RayOne Galaxy Toric multifocal replacement lenses fitted, I now have amazing eyesight for distant, intermediate and near vision.  I am especially grateful to the optometrist and the surgeon for their expertise and care, and to Chirag, the Patient Liaison Manager who always made me feel well supported.

On arrival, and in good time, there was a huge que at the reception desk with only one member of staff trying to deal with patients. We waiting a very long time even to be acknowledged so, not wanting to be late for our appointment, we made our own way to the area A. We were then approached another member of staff in Area A who was able to give us the forms we should have received at reception. Knowing that a significant number of patients were due in the recetion should have been fully staffed with an expeditious way in processing through.

My recent visit to the Fortius Clinic for removal of stitches and a post operative assessment was short, on time and to the point. On arrival, as always for previous appointments, the reception staff were briefed and I was immediately sent to the correct location, waiting time in a comfortable environment was minimal before being called in to see my surgeon, Mr Houlihan-Burne. who took the time to answer a few questions. and assure me that should there be any future queries or worries, he & his staff were always available. The doctor and nurses here are very kind and really helped me during a nerve wracking procedure that I was highly anxious for. I do think given how much we pay for these appointments, that the facilities could really use a revamp. It fees tired and dated in the common areas and the toilets were not very clean. On top of that, you can never find a parking spot, which adds extra anxiety to pre appointments.

I was kept full informed and treated with kindness and respect by all the staff. Mr Bhardwaj saw me on the morning before the operation and again later after it had been completed. Again, I was kept fully informed about my condition.

From walking through the doors on my first visit (presurgery) in June 2025 I was put at ease at all stages throughout my visits from the reception staff, the assessment staff pre surgery and the operating staff, pre and post surgery staff and the surgeon himself.
