I have been a patient since 2022 and always receive the best care from Dr. Sarkeel and the team at Living Mind. I have been diagnosed with resistant depression disorder and generalised anxiety disorder and had a recent dip on my mental health and requested urgent treatment. Dr. Sarkeel immediately moved my appointment to accommodate my needs to ensure that I had the appropriate care. Not only by being caring and treatment me with the upmost respect, but also by being one of my biggest cheerleaders and celebrating every milestone that achieve. This makes a huge difference finding the right level of support. You need to feel in a safe environment where you can open up as well as feel empowered - that's what you will find at Living Mind. The right balance so you can recover, build your resilience and if something goes wrong you have the right non judgmental environment to keep going, as this a normal part of the journey. Couldn't fault the hospital at all. It is clean, and a very welcoming environment, but of course is absolutely down to the people that run it. Every single member of staff I came across - whether in my pre op assessment appointment, or during my surgical visit - was incredibly kind, patient, and so easy to get along with. I have had few good experiences when it comes to hospital visits, but the two times I've been at The Lister Hospital, I have spoken to and laughed with so many workers. My nurse Rasheed was an absolute gem, and was brilliant with my family when they came to the room after surgery. Whether it was the nurse that helped me to the loo, the people on reception, the physio - every single person I interacted with made it such a calm and positive experience, their kindness will stay with me so thank you very much

I was seen by Dr Heggy and a lovely staff nurse Charlotte. Dr Heggy was fantastic he actually listened to me. He listened to exactly how I was and had been feeling. I'd been told by another Dr that there was nothing that could be done so I had to see someone for pain management. I'm in pain everyday and just wanted a resolution or at least pin point what could be wrong. Dr Heggy really made me feel heard and suggested other things before we gave up and just give me medication for my pain. Nurse Charlotte was fantastic. While Dr Heggy was looking things up and trying to find other options Charlotte spoke to me like an actual human. So thank you to Dr Heggy and nurse Charlotte for your time and patience with me. It's very much appreciated

I was told to report to the Heart Centre, which I did, then tried to catch the attention of the only staff member I could see who was someone eating her breakfast from a bowl. The encounter was not welcoming or friendly. I was told to go downstairs to a different door, with no sign on. When I did finally find the right place the nurse was very friendly and kind, and everything went very well after that. The nurse and the consultant were very good in all they did. My letter of admission insisted that I was 'nil by mouth' so I arrived at the hospital thirsty and hungry. When there I was informed that in fact I could eat and drink whatever I wanted- that there was no restriction. I wish I had been informed correctly in the first place.

I visited Dr O’Dwyer for seizures that had been misdiagnosed as panic attack attacks for many years. I felt that he was the first doctor in 30 years to actually listen to me having been completely let down by the NHS. He is a very kind man, really listens, and doesn’t rush you so you have plenty of time for your brain to remember all of the relevant details. He was very thorough, read all of my notes that I had sent through, asked sensible questions and treat treated me like an equal human being. There is so much more I could say but he is a 10 out of 10 doctor and I would recommend him to anyone who has any neurological problems.

Mr Ibrahim Roushdi

Mr Roushdi always has time to listen to his patients acting in a caring professional manner. He thoroughly investigate problems and acting together with the patients concerns, carefully plans and fully explains treatment options. Last year I had surgery for base of thumb arthritis and Carpal Tunnel syndrome. This was successful. However 8 weeks later I unfortunately fell and damaged my thumb! It was very reassuring to have Mr Roushdi tell me he could sort this out for me. I’ve now had my mcp joint fused. The result I’m now pain free. The first time for several years.

Just superb, wonderful, kind, generous, and as stated persuaded my stubborn husband to go to A and E. They never found new stroke or TIA, but having done a CT scan, found a mass on his kidneys. We are going for further investigation. Had this wonderful lady not have really emphasised the importance of being checked to him, we would not have known about the mass on his kidneys. He wouldn't listen to me!! Having another person tell him really really helped. Couldn't recommend you enough, dear lady. Thank you.
