Bilateral cataract surgery – an excellent experience from start to finish. The improvement in my vision has been remarkable—not only is everything much clearer, but my previous short-sightedness and astigmatism have also been fully corrected. Night driving, which was previously very difficult and something I had to restrict significantly, is now effortless. My distance and intermediate vision are pin-sharp. From the outset, Mr Gudsoorkar explained clearly that my eyes were not suitable for lenses providing reading vision, and that I would still require reading glasses. He reassured me that inexpensive off-the-shelf reading glasses would be perfectly adequate, which has saved me over £400 a year compared to my previous prescription glasses. I’m extremely pleased with both the outcome and the care I received throughout.

My experience was very positive and I was given very clear information on the procedures that would deal with my particular very chronic symptoms which had affected the quality of my life very badly over several years.My GP was helpful and we tried several different medications which did not deal with my symptoms and caused worrying side effect. Following my consultation with Mr Muir I decided to go ahead with the procedure which was straight forward and was moderately uncomfortable for 2/3 days and not particularly painful. Recovery for me was very quick and I followed the information and advice given to me from the team. There are follow appointments to ensure that recovery is progressing as it should. I wish I had the treatment earlier and the quality of my life has changed for the better in so many ways.

I was extremely happy with the hospital and the level of care I received. From the moment I arrived, all of the nurses and staff were kind, professional, and incredibly attentive. I felt genuinely well looked after at every stage before and after surgery. The nursing team made me feel comfortable, reassured, and supported, always checking in on me and making sure I had everything I needed. Their calm and caring approach made a big difference and helped me feel at ease throughout my stay. Different time slots and sessions or more flexibility. Clearer communication between services and funders. Digital timetable, links and resources could benefit from being clearer/more easy to find. Mixed bag of staff, although the weaker ones did go quite quickly it still felt as though I was a bit of a guinea pig and didn't get as much from those sessions. Core team very caring, compassionate and supportive. Environment is an downside, a shared office building is not the best setting.
