I recently had a partial knee replacement carried out by Mr Macpherson after he diagnosed the problem and explained in detail the best course of action. Pre and post op everything has gone to plan, thanks to Mr Macpherson's professionalism.
Can’t rate the care and professionalism I have experienced highly enough. Every member of the Team explained things clearly, which was very reassuring and I’ve felt nothing was too much bother. Mr MacPherson, visited me before and after the operation, and answered my questions. The physios have been excellent and have provided me with the necessary aids required for my recovery.
The whole experience was better than I had expected. Mr Macpherson explained how the operation had gone and visited each day. I felt I was in very capable hands.
i had a total left hip replacement performed on 4 March. This was performed at the Murrayfield hospital Edinburgh. Two years ago Mr Macpherson replaced my right hip joint successfully and when it became. obvious the left joint was deteriorating rapidly I felt confident about returning to his care for the second operation.
Total hip replacement (hybrid- ceramic). Initial consult very comprehensive with all options carefully considered - including no intervention. Lovely willingness to explain and clarify e.g. normality of bias in foot orientation immediately following surgery. Heart issues limited my pain relief options , so it was encouraging for Mr McPherson and anaesthetist to believe I could manage with only paracetamol/icepacks. I am writing this 84 hours after the procedure and am well satisfied with my experience
I would have no hesitation in recommending Mr Macpherson. My initial consultation with Mr Macpherson to discuss a knee replacement gave me and my family the opportunity to understand the options available, which were clearly explained to us. Having made the decision to proceed, a date was quickly arranged and the whole pre-op assessment completed efficiently. On the day of the operation, I met with Mr Macpherson who explained exactly what would happen and made sure I understood the the risks etc. I now have a lovely new knee, and I am very much looking forward to the recovery process and getting back to doing the things I used to enjoy.
I couldn't be more pleased with the results. From the start, I felt part of the conversation, listened to and, more importantly, heard. Everything was explained clearly, from the decisions being made to what would be done. I never felt talked at, which made all the difference. It's only 48 hours post-surgery and I'm already home and managing really well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mr McPherson for knee surgery.
I was very anxious about my operation. The consultant and the anaesthetist both provided me with all the information, and knowledge I required. They also give me the confidence to continue with the operation. All the other staff Drs, nursing. OT, and as well as the Csw’s catering staff and domestic, could not have been more professional and supportive. The care was second to none. Thank you.. it was very much appreciated.
Excellent care and attention at all times . Responses to help buzzer calls were quick and dealt with in the same manner. Theatre staff were very reassuring, explaining each part of the procedure as they went along. Mr Macpherson (consultant) explained everything in detail , and answered. any questions fully, putting my mind at ease. As did the anaesthetist.
