Mr Nick Ohly

I felt reassured from day one with my dealings with Mr Ohly and I am pleased to say this has proved correct. He was always available on the end of an email if I had a problem.

Hoe do you choose your surgeon ? In my case I asked one of my wife's old college friends to get the advice of her son-in-law. He's a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Golden Jubilee, and he recommended Mr Ohly. Mr Ohly took great care in assessing my hip problem, and spent time discussing the potential benefits and possible side effects of the proposed operation. He also referred me for a cardiological review, in addition to the routine pre-op assessment. This proved very wise, and the cardiologist revised my medication. The hip replacement went very smoothly, and I'm very grateful to have been given a specific prosthesis better suited to my potential risk of falls due to my Parkinson's disease. My recovery was far better than I had expected in terms of pain relief, and early mobility. I am absolutely delighted with my result.

Mr Ohly was really clear with explanations around my options for my hip. I had a total hip replacement. I cannot fault my care and the attention given to the whole process making sure I knew exactly what was going to happen when. The care I received Post op was great too.

Dr Nick Ohly is as a superhero without the cape. A doctor who is proficient in his field. He gave me back my freedom to walk again when others thought this would be a problem and I can’t thank him enough. I was able to walk freely without any aids within a week of surgery and was discharged the day after surgery being mobile and without any complications. Dr Ohly is a credit to his profession.

I found from my first contact with Mr Nick Ohly regarding hip replacement surgery that he has a calm and listening presence and is able to tune in to what I am saying and understand exactly what I am asking or what is concerning me. This continued throughout my stay in hospital for surgery and into my recent 8 week post operation appointment where Mr Ohly was once again able to give me from his considerable knowledge and experience clear and helpful explanations and reassurances. I have felt and continue to feel very positive about the treatment and care I have received, am receiving and will receive when my second hip has surgery later this year.

Mr Ohly was very clear in his explanations throughout the process. At every stage, I felt comfortable and confident that the operation would work and so it has.

I could not be happier. The operation was quick and recovery quick. I receive nothing but professional helpful and friendly advice throughout the whole stay in hospital, as well as pre-and post-operatively. The healing of my scar has been particularly impressive. This robotic technique minimise tissue trauma and that was reflected in how fast my recovery has been. I am so impressed and the outcome is life improving for me. Nick Ohly was ever informative on the procedure from when I first met him . He has a lovely manner about him that keeps you at ease about the whole procedure that I was facing regarding my Knee Replacement . That’s two knee replacements I have done ( Left and Right) by Mr Ohly .
