Mr David Allen is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with over two decades of experience specialising in hip and knee replacements. He has done over 4000 hip and knee replacements including several hundred using the Mako robot. He sees private patients at the Nuffield Health Glasgow Hospital.
After gaining his primary medical qualifications and an MSc with Distinction in Biomedical Engineering, Mr Allen completed his higher surgical training with the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. He did an Adult Reconstruction Fellowship in Ottawa, Canada. His NHS practise is at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital. He is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons and a reviewer for the Bone & Joint Journal.

Mr Allen performed my hip replacement surgery. I found him direct and easy to talk to, and I received the information I felt I wanted/needed about the procedure. I am now ten weeks post surgery, and it is making such a difference to be able to stand up and walk without the pain or the limp, and I am looking forward to walks in the country again. I would certainly recommend Mr Allen to others, and would go back to him myself if it were to become necessary.
Mr Allen performed my right hip replacement. I cannot thank him enough for performing this life changing surgery. From start to finish he was fantastic. He answered all my questions and explained pre and post op processes really well.
