The consultant is a very well qualified and experienced expert. His diagnosis is aided by thorough knowledge and experience. I would have liked more explanation during and after the procedure. It was quick, but left me in discomfort and a little shock - perhaps this is normal, but some communication would have helped. It's hard to take in complex information when you are in pain, on your back, with your legs up. Some days later I received a copy letter to my GP, and I was able to look up the diagnosis, and I now understand what happened. Written communication is much faster than NHS. The whole process moves fast. There is an opportunity to add five minutes reassuring chat at the beginning and end of the procedure. And a little more local anaesthetic!

I was referred to Mr. Vatish for a second opinion after a very unsatisfactory experience with another surgeon. I cannot praise him enough. I felt like he actually listened, which after my previous experience was much needed to regain my confidence in the procedure. Regarding the surgery itself, Mr. Vatish went above and beyond for me and my results have been amazing! Just from looking at my results you can tell he didn’t rush, he took his time and as a result, I’ve retained as much breast tissue as I could have hoped for and the suturing was done very neatly. I genuinely believe I have had the best possible outcome from this type of surgery (explant of ruptured implant and capsulectomy) thanks to Jamie and his team. Very grateful.

Sadly, my last appointment as both Matt and I have come to the end of the road in what has been two years recovering from a road traffic accident only finding Matt in year two when I thought I would never return to active life again. Matt listened to me telling what had happened to me with compassion and concern giving me hope that life would return to normal albeit possibly taking two years from the start. He never pushed me to return on a weekly basis, the next appointment based on how things were going after the phone call two weeks later. So just as Matt predicted it is now two years and I am almost back to normal, and so very grateful for Matts persevering.

When I arrived I went to reception who told I had been recorded in and I would be called shortly. It was 10 minutes prior to my appointment date as I had been able to park relatively quickly. After a while a different staff member came across as she had noticed I had been waiting a long time. I said I had an appointment for 14:00 and was waiting to be called. It was 14:30. She went and check and said I hadn't been signed in. The consultant was finished seeing patients but Dr khan agreed to see me as it wasn't my fault that I had missed my appointment. It was a brief meeting and he wasn't as engaged as in a previous meeting.

Directions to the car park should be better, ie if you put Candover Clinic in the sat nav you can't get to the patient car park for MRI without going out and sitting in traffic to get around the other side of the hospital. It could also be clearer where MRI is on the map (eg circled). It was quite confusing whether I was in the right place as was given NHS forms (is a shared NHS facility). They also told me off for not reading a leaflet but I didn't get a leaflet. The lady who completed the procedure was excellent though. Before and afterwards I felt a bit more alone and confused than at other private procedures.
