Professional, yet caring approach

A timely and an efficient service providing the treatment / outcome that I that suited my needs. I require cataract surgery to the other eye, I have no reservations about returning to Practice Plus Group, Shepton Mallet.

Excellent service. Totally professional staff.

Now 5 weeks after operation and I am back to normal cycling and walking. I am pleased I decided to self pay for my hernia operation with Practice Plus.

I had a right hip replacement operation on 11th March 2026. I was looked after with care and consideration from the moment I arrived at the hospital. Everyone that I came into contact with explained each step of the procedure and I was able to ask any questions. The operation has been a great success and the nursing staff and all the other staff were kind, caring and helpful throughout my recovery stages. Everywhere throughout the hospital was kept spotlessly clean . I was impressed by the literature that was given to me to take home because it is well written and illustrated so that I have been able to follow through with all the exercises I need to do to ensure I make a good recovery. Also I have been able to find the answers to any queries that I had.

Really pleased with appointment booking and actual appointment on the day......everyone efficient, very reassuring and helpful. I was told to expect scan results by post within a week but on checking by phone after 10 days, the helpful radiology department found that the results had not been sent to me or my doctor.......this must have been an oversight which was soon corrected as my doctor phoned me the next day to say she had just received them by e-mail. I thought as a private patient I might have received a written copy but I have not........this is a slight disappointment but would not prevent me from using the private care services in future. I hope this is helpful...thank you.

Overall experience good, but booking procedure took a while. Although paying privately, had to get a GP referral for an ultrasound, but seemingly could book an MRI or similar scan directly without a referral. When I asked for the results, I was told they had to go back to my GP, but for other scans they did not, which didn’t make sense to me. Hence several phone calls had to be made and the situation became more stressful
