Mr Aleksandr Klink is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with over 20 years of clinical experience, specialising in hip and knee surgery. Since qualifying in 2000 from the University of Tartu in Estonia, he has dedicated his career to restoring mobility, relieving pain, and improving quality of life for patients with lower limb conditions. He completed his specialist training in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2009 and has been practising in the UK since 2010.
Mr Klink joined Practice Plus Group Hospital, Shepton Mallet in 2023 and performs over 400 procedures annually. He is known for his patient-centred approach, ensuring each individual feels listened to, informed, and confident throughout their treatment journey. His priority is always the patient — listening carefully to their goals and concerns, guiding them through every stage of care, and delivering the best possible outcomes using proven, modern surgical techniques.
His specialist interests include lower limb trauma, hip and knee arthroplasty, and complex reconstruction. He offers primary hip and knee replacements, as well as trauma-related procedures. Mr Klink is experienced in same-day hip and knee surgery where clinically appropriate, supporting enhanced recovery and reduced hospital stays.
Mr Klink has undertaken three prestigious fellowships in the South West of England, further refining his expertise. These include advanced training in knee surgery and trauma at Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust, an arthroplasty fellowship focused on hip and knee replacements and soft tissue reconstruction, and a trauma and revision arthroplasty fellowship covering complex hip and knee revision surgery across Truro, Plymouth and Exeter. Through these fellowships, he developed advanced skills in modern surgical techniques and evidence-based practice.
Alongside his surgical work, Mr Klink has a strong commitment to teaching and training. He has been actively involved in educating clinical staff within theatres and outpatient settings, supporting the development of multidisciplinary teams and promoting high standards of orthopaedic care.
Fluent in English, Estonian, and Russian, Mr Klink is able to support a diverse patient population and ensure clear communication throughout treatment planning and recovery.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his family. His interests include hiking, skiing, surfing, swimming, and travelling across Europe — either by plane or car — embracing an active lifestyle that reflects his professional commitment to mobility and wellbeing.
Mr Klink is registered with the General Medical Council (GMC number 6168169) and is available to patients insured with AXA, Aviva, Vitality, WPA, and Allianz Partners.
“My priority is always the patient — listening to their needs, guiding them through their journey, and ensuring they receive the best possible care for the best possible outcome.”
