I arrived at the appointed time, checked in with the receptionist given forms to complete which I completed & handed back to the receptionist, after waiting half an hour passed my appointment time I was still waiting to be seen, eventually my partner asked a male nurse if Mr Patel was running late, and we were told that we were the next to be seen, when we were invited in to see Mr Pater he was very apologetic for keeping us waiting saying that there had been an administrative error whereby he had been told that I hadn’t arrived for my appointment, Mr Patel commented that he thought that was strange as the paperwork I had compieted on my arrival was on his desk. So he realised that I was there but nobody had apparently bothered to check.

The plan was discussed clearly and professionally from the start, and I felt involved in the decision-making process throughout. My options were all explained in a tone I could understand and a realistic timeline was set. Mr Baxter was extremely knowledgeable and his bedside manner was calm, friendly and polite. The surgery was efficient and without complications. My scar is barely noticeable and my symptoms have disappeared. Due to my high-intensity job, it was crucial to have a motion preserving cervical disc replacement which has enabled me to get back to very high levels of physical functioning soon after my operation.

My 6 month post surgery went really well, and I have now been discharged. After several years of extreme chronic pain and almost complete loss of function of my right arm, I am now able to do almost everything, with relative ease and only some discomfort, which is actually far less than I anticipated. My main objective now, is to keep building my strength by continuing my physiotherapy at home. I intend to go from strength to strength, literally! Thank you Mr Wijeratna. And thank you to my amazing physiotherapist at NGH! I am happy beyond all expectations!

Thursday afternoon visit, the surgery did not adjust to be that busy, arrived before my appointment time but still had to wait till after my scheduled time before being seen. Cat was blocked in when I be wanted to leave and I requested for the owner to move their vehicle as I had other engagements scheduled. No sense of urgency amongst the staff it appreciation that my time is as valuable as theirs. Managed to manoeuvre my car out whilst waiting so impact was not as bad as if I had waited for the other to move their vehicle but it was irritating.

Mr Leontsinis is a true professional, amazing bedside manner, gives well guided information, hes a funny character nice to see from a surgeon someone with personality. His professionalism is second to none and his surgery is top class. Ive not been able to breat through my nose for 10 years, after a 3 hour operation, no bruising or swelling my breathing is 200% better than what it was before the operation. My fear was so not needed ! As soon as I arrived Natasha and her assistant were both so friendly compassionate and caring - I really felt heard and looked after . Sarah Lawson was fantastic and really progressed my rehab so I could get running again which is my passion. Not only that, we worked on my foot and ankle positioning and flexibility which has paid huge dividends beyond just getting me back to full fitness. Highly recommended.

Doing my video call assessment I went into it extremely anxious as video calls are not the sort of thing I feel comfortable with. However Lucy, made me feel extremely at ease, and the whole conversation was easy to get through, no discomfort at all.

Karin has been so helpful and supportive throughout our time with the clinic always answering our queries promptly and informatively.
