Mr Aldiwani is a Consultant Urological Surgeon who specialises in both kidney surgery and prostate problems. He offers robotic (Da Vinci) surgery for kidney cancer (partial nephrectomy; radical nephrectomy; nephro-ureterectomy) and benign kidney conditions (pyeloplasty; cyst removal). He is well recognised for offering the retroperitoneal approach, which is not widely available. He also regularly treats kidney and ureteric stones with ureteroscopy; as well as men with an enlarged prostate and symptoms such as a slow flow, urgency, getting up at night, or difficulty emptying the bladder.
He sees patients with a wide range of urological concerns, including blood in the urine, raised PSA, and suspected urological cancers. He has particular experience in the diagnosis and management of bladder and prostate conditions, and provides clear guidance and tailored treatment plans. He also manages general urology issues including infections, scrotal swellings and penile conditions.
Mr. Aldiwani provides personalised, attentive, and evidence-based care, ensuring that each patient is well-informed and supported throughout their treatment journey.
After graduating from the University of Manchester in 2010, Mr. Aldiwani completed his early training across Yorkshire and took international placements in Sydney and Cape Town. He undertook higher specialist training in London, including advanced techniques for benign prostatic enlargement, and received sub-specialist cancer training at the prestigious Royal Marsden Hospital. He was later awarded a Royal College of Surgeons-accredited fellowship in robotic kidney surgery, during which he performed over 200 kidney operations, including 125 partial nephrectomies, placing him among the highest-volume robotic kidney surgeons in the UK during that time.
In addition to his clinical practice, Mr. Aldiwani is active in research, education, and clinical training. He has published multiple papers and presented internationally, and he holds lead roles in medical education at his NHS trust.
