I had a very good experience with Visio Health when I had recent laser treatment following cataract surgery on both eyes with Ms Sandhu. The cataract surgery, which took place in hospital in July and October, has been very successful. I no longer need glasses after having vision corrective lenses. And I hadn’t realised quite how blurred and sepia my sight had become. My vision is now very clear and bright. It really has positively impacted my life. Everything looks like it did back when I was young. It’s so much more cheerful than that blurry, yellow sight that I had grown so used to. And I am so much more confident when driving. No more night glare. I was really apprehensive and anxious about cataract surgery. So much so that it was decided that I would have the procedure under general anaesthetic. But I can honestly say that despite all the worry the end result is better than I could have imagined. The laser treatment at Visio to improve my sight further with one session of laser treatment was totally painless, very straightforward and uncomplicated. The clinic was very well organised and the staff were all lovely. A very good experience.

Mr Finnigan was very gently spoken, and he helped me feel calm and safe. He sppke about what would happen in my operation and spoke me through it all. At all times he asked if I had any questions, and I felt happy and comfortable to ask whatever I needed. Or asked for more information also. He was very kind and answered everything so I could understand. I felt very safe to have Mr Finnigan as my consultant, and I am extremely happy with my surgery which went very well. In my appointment following my operation, i was happy to show him I had full movement of my knee joint and it was repairing well. I was very impressed by the clarity, structure and details of the summary of my first appointment. It was the most professional summary of a medical meeting that I have read in any hospital. What particularly impressed me was that it set out precisely how this first session had been designed to "break me in" by conducting it in a chair instead of more formally lying down and with fewer needles than subsequently. Mr Brown cleverly interspersed medical questions with some remarks about Somerset. This limited distraction was vital to me as I am chronically needle phobic. In this way, by partly taking my mind off what might have been an ordeal, Mr Brown ensured that I underwent no strains, mental or physical, from the treatment.

All staff were very efficient and attentive. There were two areas of concern. The cocktail of pain killers was not fully explained to me and I was severely sick both in hospital and at home on my release day, Saturday December 6th. My wife at 2000hrs rang the ward from home and was able to travel to the hospital collect an anti nausea prescription, this at 21.30. Jasmine (ward 1) and Sophie(ward 2) were brilliant. In addition, having been told at 1.30 I could go home my wife and I eventually left at approximately 4.30. Surprisingly there was only one porter on duty on the Saturday afternoon.

I can’t recommend Mr Emeka Okaro highly enough. He was calm, reassuring, and made me feel completely safe throughout my pregnancy and birth. I felt so comfortable knowing I was in his care, and that trust made all the difference. I had gestational diabetes and wanted a normal vaginal birth without an epidural or unnecessary intervention, and Mr Okaro fully supported this and helped make it happen. I’m so grateful for how listened to and supported I felt. Justina was also wonderful — kind, efficient, and always on top of everything.

I chose galaxy lenses for my cataract surgery and am now very happy with the results. No need whatsoever for any glasses. The staff were all very kind and supportive, along with Mr Hove the surgeon who was quick and efficient with the procedure. I would recommend anyone who is thinking of this procedure to not be anxious, it is quick and painless and though your vision is a little blurry after it doesn't take long to resolve. Transfered to Clarytin after disappointing time with NHS awaiting time for appointment for cataract removal. Very pleased with Clarity who saw me very shortly after referral and operated on a week later. I was going to wait for the next operation on the NHS on the 4th February but when that was moved to sometime in April, I took the next available appt on January 20th for a private operation. Both private experiences have been a pleasure and very good.

His explanations of what was to happen in the operation were clear and so was the analysis post op of lab results of the tissues taken, together with a forward plan of action.
