Mr Benjamin Fisher

Mr Benjamin Fisher is a Consultant Neurosurgeon with specialist expertise in neurovascular surgery, pituitary disorders, and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) conditions, alongside a broad general neurosurgical practice. He completed his formal neurosurgical training in the West Midlands, followed by advanced subspecialist fellowships, including a Royal College of Surgeons-accredited Neurovascular Fellowship at King's College Hospital and a Skull Base Neurosurgery fellowship at The Walton Centre. He also undertook an observership at the internationally renowned Barrow Neurological Institute.

Mr Fisher is the Lead Neurovascular Clinician at Royal Sussex County Hospital, where he has played a key role in developing and reconfiguring the neurovascular service. He has extensive operative experience, including performing over 100 aneurysm clippings and more than 40 arteriovenous malformation (AVM) resections, as well as managing complex neurovascular conditions affecting the brain and spine.

In addition to his clinical work, he has contributed to the development of regional neurovascular networks, helping to deliver specialised care for complex and low-volume conditions. He has also been actively involved in major international neurovascular clinical trials as a Principal Investigator and has published widely in the field.

Mr Fisher is committed to education and training, regularly teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate audiences, and serves as a lead for audit, education, and training within his unit.
