I visited Mr Fisher on 28 August and was extremely impressed with the consultation. He was personable, thorough and very good at explaining what he could see from my previous scans and MRIs, the options available to me, and the further investigation he would recommend. I would rate the consultation itself as excellent. I do, however, have some constructive feedback regarding the communication and coordination of the follow-up arrangements. I live in Margate and asked whether the recommended xray & scans could be undertaken locally, as travelling to the suggested partner facilities involves a round trip of approximately four hours, depending on traffic. I queried this particularly because my previous MRIs, which were undertaken locally, were available for Mr Fisher to review during my initial consultation. I therefore assumed that there was no issue with either the quality of the imaging or his ability to access and review scans undertaken locally. I completely appreciate that there may be a clinical or technical reason for recommending particular imaging facilities, and I specifically asked whether this was the case. The response I received was that these were the only facilities where Mr Fisher could review the scans. Given my previous locally undertaken MRIs had been available to him, I asked for clarification but did not receive a response. I was subsequently contacted directly by the partnership facility.
