Dr. Ana Costa

Dr. Ana Costa is a dedicated obesity and weight management specialist with a strong interest in the role of hormones in health and disease. She currently practices at Oval Medical Centre, where she supports patients in achieving sustainable, long-term improvements in their health through personalised and evidence-based care.

Dr. Costa obtained her medical degree from Universidade Potiguar in 2020 and went on to complete a Master’s degree in Weight Management at the University of Chester. She is also a member of the Association for the Study of Obesity, reflecting her commitment to staying at the forefront of developments in her field.

Her professional journey began in hospital and emergency care settings, where she gained valuable experience managing acute conditions. She later transitioned into primary care, allowing her to focus on long-term patient management and preventative health strategies. Dr. Costa is particularly committed to prescribing modern weight loss treatments in a safe, ethical, and evidence-based manner.

In addition to her clinical work, she has contributed to clinical research as a sub-investigator in trials conducted in collaboration with AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Costa has a strong interest in sport, with a particular passion for rhythmic gymnastics.
