I was seen on time. Mr Bansal gave me plenty of time to talk and examined my knees and sent me for XRays which were swiftly carried out. On re interview I was shown my X-rays which were explained and then faced with a decision on surgery which was a little intimidating as it is major and it all seems to happen so fast and is a bit scary. At that point possibly a bit more information about what it entails and what the likelihood of success is might help although I understand the consultant can’t lead the patient as it is their own decision to make. Just a bit more chit chat around knee arthritis disease and knee surgery in general and what stage mine are at and what likely progression might look like have taken a bit of pressure off my decision which I felt was a bit hurried and therefore potentially not too well informed. However I want to stress the consultant was perfectly nice and his and the other staffs service overall was superb in an excellent environment at the hospital.. Maybe a short period of grace (say a week)could be afforded on these major decisions so that one has a chance to fully consider the ramifications. Hence my score is 4 not 5. But it is still 4 star which is very good.

It was an absolute pleasure meeting Dr. Thanos. From the outset, his calm and reassuring demeanour immediately put me at ease, and I felt truly heard and validated throughout our interaction. I was initially anxious and somewhat hesitant about discussing my experiences and past, but he created a safe and supportive environment that made it much easier to open up. He listened attentively and patiently, especially when I struggled to articulate myself, and responded with genuine compassion and understanding. He also took the initiative to gather additional information from my partner and even called us outside of the scheduled assessment time to ensure he had as complete a picture as possible. This demonstrated how thorough and dedicated he is to reaching the most accurate and informed conclusions. I had complete confidence in Dr. Thanos’ expertise. Even though we moved through the questions efficiently, he was incredibly perceptive and managed to gather all the necessary information, despite my sometimes convoluted explanations. I would highly recommend Dr. Thanos without hesitation.

I am so so grateful to Mr Malde -he was very clear with his explanations and he really gave me 100 per cent at his consultations. . I have previously had amazing care from the consultant who carried two open heart surgeries and I would say that my feelings are that they really are the superheroes of life.because they have the skills to offer everyone a brilliant chance of recovery but for those of us who have very significant co-morbities and a real risk to our lives they are brave enough to take that risk to save us. I am in awe of the amazing treatment I received at Leicester from everyone I met. I consider myself very very lucky to have received such amazing treatment from everyone but especially Mr Malde. I had a Teams meeting today with Angela about my nutrition, as I’m looking for ways to gain weight. She was completely non judgemental, incredibly warm, and made me feel comfortable throughout the whole conversation. She never made me feel bad about my eating habits and was very kind and understanding in the way she worked with me. She gave me really sound advice and clear, practical feedback on how I can improve things going forward, particularly around healthy weight gain. I wasn’t sure what to expect going into the meeting. I half expected to be told to cut out lots of foods and start eating things I didn’t like but instead, she took the time to understand what I like and don’t like to eat. Overall, she was extremely helpful, supportive, and approachable, and I genuinely appreciated the session. I thought she was great.

I attended the Ballykelly Hopsital early for a pre operation examination. Booking in was a most pleasant experience. It was quick and expertly managed by the staff on the reception desk and later the clinical staff undertook all tests expertly and with empathy. A very professional and thorough evaluation. This meeting was followed by a detailed assessment undertaken by the anaesthesiologist. Again, the doctor demonstrated a sympathetic approach taking me through my prior medical history and current medication. This finished with a detailed explanation of which drugs I need to bring and those I must stop on the day of the operation. A great experience overall.

I have given 3 star for experience as I was so on edge about someone going near my eyes I felt sick, but to let others know there was no need as the staff went out of their way to make me feel relaxed. May I just say that MR Soo Park was a great surgeon and had the operation on both eyes over and don within minutes totally pain free and no discomfort at all. Would highly Recommend.
