Recently wanted an MOT to check that my heart was all fine due to having a HA at a young age. I had an ECG and a Stress Echogram procedure prior to my consultation with Mr Wilkinson. I requested to see Mr Wilkinson, as it was him who performed emergency stent procedures on me 14 years ago, and it was really great to see him again after all these years. Mr Wilkinson is top of his field and a very lovely guy. The nurse who performed my tests was really professional and friendly and very helpful. My consultation went very well and put my mind at ease. I went private as I wanted some Piece of mind and the NHS only deal with reactive situations (IE heart attack) and are not interested in supporting people years after treatments unless you have a serious issue. I can 100% recommend anyone looking to book private consultation / tests via Spite hospital. I only have one major gripe… they no longer, and for some time do not take a credit card payment (no longer use a card machine) the reasons were explained, as you can only do a BACS transfer now. I find this very unhelpful and this should be reinstated. If you have lots of spare cash around to complicate then this will not be a problem for you, but for people who use this service and it’s an extra expense, it’s more difficult. I would use Spite more if a credit card service was available.

I was greeted by an amicable, polite & efficient receptionist on arrival and shown to the waiting room where member of the theatre staff would come for me and explain what would happen next. Kate introduce herself and on knowing I have profound hearing loss made sure that I understood everything. She prepared me well with the required eye drops and made sure I understood the process that would happen in theatre. Having escorted me into theatre she introduced me to Mr Shafiq, the surgeon and the other theatre staff. Mr Shafiq is very approachable and explained clearly what was going to happen. During the procedure he talked me through what he as about to do and what I would see. He was very reassuring throughout the whole procedure which took about 10 mins. He explained clearly about the eye pad, the eye drops etc and Kate made sure that I had understood this before she escorted me to the waiting room. Overall, an excellent team and excellent care; even better than I'd expected because of my profound hearing loss.

I attended a follow up consultation with Dr Gaya yesterday during which he gave me my recent MRI and PET/CT scan results. As always, Dr Gaya spent time explaining his findings and action to be taken going forward. We also discussed my current state of health, my planned treatment by the Rheumatology Team and the impact the most recent Rituximab infusion is having. Dr Gaya is always very pleasant, asks relevant questions and is very clear about next steps in the short term whilst having plans for the longer term. I look forward to his encouraging consultations every two weeks. Dr Gaya’s calm, measured, patient manner reflects his professionalism and care towards his patients. He keeps me sane, especially in times of anxiousness !

I've been trying to book an initial appointment for last two weeks. I've been emailed times slot for appointment but then we're told that the time slot was taken by another patient. I've called numerous times. But there is no one picking up the phone. Emails are not responded to in timely manner either. I don't know what to think of you're services and what your staff are like because you're team are not there to take calls or email back when we need them. Will you're doctors be the same? Would it be that difficult to get a consultation with them. I'm very disappointed with your reception staff!

Mr Rajaratnam performed my left knee replacement surgery 2 weeks ago. This was a follow up consultation having had staples removed from the incision made. All was well, he was pleased with my progress. I cannot praise Mr Rajaratnam and his team highly enough. He replaced my right knee very successfully in 2022. The procedure and recovery path on my left knee is going just as positively. I am extremely pleased with my progress. A totally professional experience. He explained the procedure to me during the consultation, and I had undergone the same procedure with another consultant in the past. I was expecting the same type of pain. However, Marco Bolgeri's technique rendered the procedure painless. I am very happy that my GP recommended I see him.

Really great experience seeing Daniel at Physio Jack Studios. He took the time to go through my symptoms, and identified the likely issue. The explanation of exercises were clear, both in the session, and the written info that followed. The follow-up session was useful to review progress, and Daniel suggested some helpful steps to try and prevent the issue recurring.
