I was referred to Dr Zeki by my gynaecologist for bloating / distension. My GP had previously run coeliac blood tests which were negative, and I had been on a gluten free diet since then. Dr Zeki told me he didn’t think I was coeliac, but still pushed me to eat gluten for a gastroscopy. I asked him for help managing symptoms while eating gluten and he replied that’s up to patients to manage. He said I “didn’t seem bothered” - I’m unsure why I’d be paying to see him if I wasn’t. He said my previous pelvic MRI was sufficient for bowel imaging. After the gastroscopy, I told him I remembered being awake for part of it despite sedation and he just shrugged. He told me he could send the biopsy results without / before a follow up appointment, but his secretary argued with me when I asked her. The gastroscopy found mild oesophagitis which he said he didn’t recommend surgery for me, but then kept offering me surgery anyway despite my not having symptoms and not being what I was there for. He said I had IBS and wanted me to do the low FODMAP diet, and that this would also be the treatment for any SIBO. I asked him the success rates and he told me not to think like that. I told him I’d had issues around food before (my previous GP had advised me not to try the low FODMAP diet or gluten challenge because of this) and he said to do it anyway. I asked him what to do if it didn’t help, and he shrugged and said I could come back if I wanted to. I asked him which particular dietitians he referred to; he laughed and replied that he knows I like googling people, and said he’d write the two names in the letter, which he then didn’t. He told me to take nortriptyline PRN for pain. I questioned him on this (my other doctors were also confused when I later told them) and asked him to write it in the clinic letter, where he then omitted the PRN. He said I didn’t need my morphine prescription - which was for gynae pain not gastro, and has since been resolved. I do understand that opioids can have gastro effects, but this was not discussed. He brought up my gynaecologist’s referral letter to a pain consultant (which was also requested by my CNS and GP) and said it was “overkill”. I’d had two broken nights’ sleep, skipped breakfast and cried in the waiting room due to gynae pain. He said we would see if it was gastro or gynae pain, when those symptoms were quite clearly gynaecological. The dietitians at the hospital were about twice the rate at other locations so I saw an external registered dietitian specialising in IBS. She said she didn’t think my symptoms were IBS or diet related and referred me to a different gastro, in addition to starting the low FODMAP diet as Dr Zeki had requested. The diet made no difference to my symptoms. The new gastro wanted to do a colonoscopy, small bowel MRI, and SIBO test, and if these came back negative she would refer me to a neurogastro. I was then diagnosed with abdominophrenic dyssynergia and told I did not currently have IBS as I did not meet the diagnostic criteria. I have started treatment for APD and my symptoms are now improving. I’m unsure why Dr Zeki lists IBS as a special interest when he seemed completely uninterested in it.

The service provided at Diverse Minds Clinic is impressive. They tend to reply very quickly, and staff do all they can to support you. The team has been very helpful, and they went above and beyond to help me with the forms where I was having problems. Dr Cappai also arranged to speak with me on the phone, free of charge, before my appointment, which I thought was remarkable. I will continue working with Dr Cappai during the titration period and possibly in the future. Highly recommended.

I have have had previous eye surgery at NW Eye specialist Centre under the care of Dr Bhargava, and was entirely satisfied with the care received and outcome of my operation. On this occasion, I received a very prompt appointment which I was grateful for. The environment in Bangor was spotlessly clean and the receptionist and nurse were very friendly and professional. My consultation was thorough and Dr Bhargava gave explained to me with care and attention the nature of my symptoms and I was given a treatment plan to follow and a follow up appointment to check progress in six weeks. All of this was verified by a consultation letter that was also sent to my GP on the same day. I am very grateful to receive this high standard of care and attention from all of the team involved.

Hello I was very upset when the hospital charge me for XRAY in an NHS hospital that we have to be in the queue and don't get the private care. I had a fall in June 2024 and had an operation at RFH unfortunately the operation was not successful. I can't walk properly I am on a stick and have lots of pain. If I go to private is because I don't have any access to NHS but that doesn't mean that for diagnosis I need to pay while me and my family are paying a lot for taxes and don't benefit for our health when we need and are desperate. I also have been to another private consultant to find out what went wrong and if I can ever get better and can walk but they just charge me for consultation not XRAY in an all private clinic. Thank you

Time with Mr Nicholls...excellent. However looking back I suspect that wound attention ( especially first special bleeding ) could have been much better had wound been cleaned and re bandaged then as opposed to over bandaging. I feel this would have led to avoiding the lengthly time needed to get recovery back on track during many extra visits.
