I was seen on time. Mr Bansal gave me plenty of time to talk and examined my knees and sent me for XRays which were swiftly carried out. On re interview I was shown my X-rays which were explained and then faced with a decision on surgery which was a little intimidating as it is major and it all seems to happen so fast and is a bit scary. At that point possibly a bit more information about what it entails and what the likelihood of success is might help although I understand the consultant can’t lead the patient as it is their own decision to make. Just a bit more chit chat around knee arthritis disease and knee surgery in general and what stage mine are at and what likely progression might look like have taken a bit of pressure off my decision which I felt was a bit hurried and therefore potentially not too well informed. However I want to stress the consultant was perfectly nice and his and the other staffs service overall was superb in an excellent environment at the hospital.. Maybe a short period of grace (say a week)could be afforded on these major decisions so that one has a chance to fully consider the ramifications. Hence my score is 4 not 5. But it is still 4 star which is very good.

Mr Jon Palmer

Mr Jon Palmer carried out a complex replacement of my right knee followed three months later by a partial replacement of my left knee. The arrangements for both operations were straightforward and extremely efficient. My care in hospital was first class and both operations were a complete success. I was particularly impressed by the speed of my recovery and the resolution of all the symptoms. I am pain free and can do anything I could do several years ago including cycling, walking and even running despite being nearly 80 years old. Mr Palmer’s manner was exceptionally kind and professional and he dealt with one episode of unnecessary concern by me immediately at some inconvenience to himself and in the kindest and most understanding way possible. There cannot be a specialist knee surgeon better than Jon Palmer anywhere in the country. My rheumatologist was most insistent that Mr Palmer should be the one to do the surgery and that advice was invaluable.

I arrived circa 15min before my appointment time as requested and was greeted courteously by the reception staff before being lead to an examination room to undergo a basic check of my eyesight and health check/questionnaire. On retuning to the waiting area I was almost immediately greeted by Mr Bhargava. The consolation was just 5min after the appointment time, which is excellent. The consultation was thorough and very professional, Mr Bhargava has a very good manner and following questioning and examination explained all the parameters relevant to my condition. Mr Bhargava then went on to detail treatment and advice in a concise but detailed way covering all aspects very well. I left feeling that the visit was well worthwhile and that I had been treated well in all aspects of the consolation. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mr Bhargava to friends and colleagues.

I have multiple joints pain for a month and have swelling in my fingers for almost 2 weeks. I have been on painkillers for a month as well. Washing hands or changing clothes is a challenge for me. My Gp kept refusing to refer me the rheumatologist without the blood test result or could not come up with any diagnosis. My blood test came as normal. I had an appointment with Dr Singh yesterday and upon first inspection diagnosed it as psoriatic arthritis and said the blood test come as normal for this. He empathised on my situation and prescribed medication assuring that it will help me with the swelling and the pain. He explained to me about a long term treatment plan. I am very grateful to him and his assurance have made me confident that I will get better under his guidance.

The surgery itself went very smoothly with an epidural and sedation and post-op the care was thorough and well co-ordinated. I'd been forewarned that it was a painful operation but still I needed to experience this first hand. With the kind support of family and friends (they formed a 'I Love my New Knee' Whatsapp group to liaise with one another) my good recovery has taken me by surprise. I had a great experience at Cyprus ivf hospital. Aman was our coordinator and she was immediately responding to all our worries and questions. It is a clean and well equipped clinic. The prices were fixed and no extra expenses were placed. They let you now about the price from the beginning and you now as the procedure goes on, when and how much you have to pay. Transfer of the embryos took place only when the doctor was sure everything was ready. No rushing. They followed the correct protocol for my case and were always there for us any day any time! I am most impressed by the amount of expertise Dr Rajpar and his team, I honestly dont think any skin or dermatology clinic matches this.
