Everyone was at all times friendly and quietly efficient. I was assessed via up to five impressive machines on the working day following my initial approach to the clinic. I had to approach the Clinic following the retirement of the consultant whom I had originally engaged, and who had agreed with my optician that I was ready for surgery. The initial examination at the Clinic was most impressive, and when Mr Chan met me shortly thereafter he was clearly able to make a quick assessment. He explained to me that the operation would be challenging, given the damaged condition of my eye, but he agreed with my decision to ask him to proceed. The pamphlets provided enabled me to have a good understanding of the nature of a cataract and the usual course of treatment before and after the operation. On the day of the procedure I approached without misgivings, and following a full discussion with a senior nurse who sought fuller details of my medical history, and then the application of anaesthetics by the anaesthetist, I proceeded to the operating theatre. It was good and very reassuring to be able to feel the area round my eye go numb in advance of entering the theatre. The operation was for me comfortable, and I enjoyed the soft verbal exchanges between Mr Chan and his staff, and the gentle and futuristic sounds of the surgical equipment. Afterwards, I have felt no discomfort from the after effects, and the post operation advice from another nurse has been very clear and helpful. And I am delighted with the outcome. After having been in effect virtually blind in my right eye, my vision is now clear, bright and colourful. Very much better that these current aspects of by “good” left eye! Well done everyone! I recently had bilateral cataract surgery. From start to finish the treatment I received was excellent. The patient liaison manager was really helpful, friendly, incredibly supportive and a welcome calming influence. I was amazed by the state of the art optical equipment that was available to ensure that my lenses were perfectly suited to the dimensions of my eyes and my prescription, as well as the care that the technicians took while taking the measurements. The optometrists I saw were caring and informative, ensuring that I knew about the different types of intra ocular lenses available and what I may expect from them. They carried out my eye tests with care and patience. The eye surgeon was incredibly experienced and very skilled, and carried out the procedure very efficiently with great care. Now, six weeks post-surgery, I am very grateful of the care I received and the quality and clarity of my lenses; both aspects easily surpassed all my expectations. He was rude and made me feel as if my problem was insignificant. He did not write down any information for me. He gave me the impression that he thought I was wasting his time. He also kept saying that I would not receive another steroid injection as if that was the reason for my visit (I hate injections and so this was not my objective). When he explained that the treatment was purely stretches and I looked displeased he asked me what exactly I wanted and I replied to just be pain free. He told me that the exercise was the only treatment. I asked about why I had been diagnosed with bursitis to which he said it was just a medical term for a sore shoulder. I felt he was very rude and dismissive. I have gone away feeling like I now have nowhere to turn with regards to the pain which is not debilitating but still making my life more difficult than it should be. His manner was unsympathetic and he also didn’t seem to understand me when I was questioning about the length of time I had been in pain for and how long I should expect this to continue.

I had an excellent experience with Phillip. He was incredibly warm, kind and empathetic from the outset, and took the time to explain everything clearly in accessible, layman’s terms. I’m not an expert, but I never felt rushed or talked down to — he made a complex situation feel straightforward and manageable. Phillip was also impressively efficient. Within the space of around 30 minutes, he arranged the necessary test, discussed the results, and talked me through next steps. The doctor was very kind and gentle. However, I found the consultation to be largely limited to a question-and-answer format, with my questions receiving very brief responses. The mole check was carried out using a light, but the scalp (hair area) was not examined. I also asked her to look into other concerns; she responded kindly, but overall I did not find the consultation particularly thorough or reassuring, and it did not fully meet my expectations.

Whilst all staff were friendly and professional from the reception staff to the dentist. My appointment was 10 o'clock but I was not seen until 10:25 without any courteous apology or advise of the delay until I was in with the dentist. I appreciate that delays can happens with the treatment of the customers before me but a courteous apology and advice of the estimated wait would have been appreciated as my car was parked in a pay and display area.
