Dr. Gosia Wamil

Dr Gosia Wamil, MD MSc PhD FESC FRCP is a Consultant Cardiologist with expertise in the management of heart failure, hypertension, inherited cardiomyopathies, cardiac screening, and heart valve disease. She has a special interest in the management of heart disease in women and athletes. Dr Wamil centres her practice around holistic, individualised patient care. She sees private patients at the Mayo Clinic Healthcare, and Nuffield Health, The Manor Hospital, and in Swindon.

Dr Wamil earned her primary medical qualification in 2003. She was then awarded a fellowship by the British Heart Foundation, during which she trained at the University of Edinburgh and worked towards her Master's and PhD in Cardiovascular Sciences. Upon completion, Dr Wamil undertook further clinical training in cardiology and cardiac imaging at the University of Oxford, where she gained expertise in specialised cardiac imaging techniques to manage complex cardiac conditions. Upon completing her training at Oxford in 2017, Dr Wamil was appointed Consultant Cardiologist at the Great Western Hospital Trust. Dr Wamil leads the Cardiac MRI imaging service at her trust and is highly regarded as an expert in multi-modality cardiac imaging. She is known for her expertise in cardiac MRI, cardiac CT, and advanced echocardiography, and can often combine them in transformative ways to treat complex cardiovascular cases.

She has received multiple awards for her academic excellence, including fellowships and grants from organisations such as the British Heart Foundation, the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging and the European Society of Cardiology. Besides her clinical career, Dr Wamil is also a clinician-scientist with research experience spanning molecular biology and drug development projects to large-scale clinical trials. She holds the positions of an Honorary Research Fellow at Deep Medicine, University of Oxford, and an Assistant Professor at the Mayo Clinic.
