About Dr Alexander Liu

Dr Liu is a consultant cardiologist specialising in general cardiology, heart failure, cardio-oncology, and inflammatory heart conditions including pericarditis, myocarditis, and cardiac sarcoidosis. He has particular expertise in advanced cardiac imaging, including cardiac MRI and coronary CT, and holds international accreditations in both modalities. He combines detailed interpretation of imaging with clinical assessment to diagnose and manage complex cardiac conditions.

He is an honorary assistant professor at Brighton and Sussex Medical School and maintains an active academic profile with a focus on cardiac imaging and inflammatory heart disease. He has authored over 50 publications in medical journals, contributed a clinical textbook chapter, and regularly acts as an invited reviewer and editor for medical journals.

Dr Liu graduated from Imperial College London School of Medicine with distinction in medical sciences and achieved first-class honours in an intercalated BSc in cardiovascular sciences. He completed his specialist cardiology training at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London and was awarded a research MD by the University of St Andrews.

He is committed to delivering individualised, patient-centred care, placing strong emphasis on helping patients understand their conditions clearly.
