I was really pleased to become one of Mr Tai's patients, as he had been strongly recommended by my physiotherapist as the best person to do a replacement hip operation for me. He is ideal for me as I have a knee problem on the same leg, and as Mr Tai is a specialist for both knees and hips, we could openly discuss the most appropriate way of dealing with both problems, in a way I could understand. After only a week since the operation, I am already walking well (with sticks) and am looking forward to being so much better than I was before the operation. My operation was at Pinehill , Hitchin (a private hospital, but I am an NHS patient). The staff at the hospital were kind, helpful, supportive and attentive. I reached out to TCM after I was told that I had a very low AMH and AFC and that I would likely go through early menopause. This caused me a lot of stress as I had always had regular periods and had never considered that I may have fertility troubles. Prof Au talked me through my results and educated me on AMH as a poor predictor for menopause. He advised me that I would need further bloods to fully assess my fertility and I was able to request them from my GP. Following this he reviewed my bloods with me again, without charge, and advised me that everything was normal and I did not need to be seen at TCM. I am very grateful for all the help, support and education. Thank you!

My experience at the hospital was excellent from start to finish. The room was extremely comfortable and well appointed, which certainly helped with rest and recovery, but what truly made the experience exceptional was the nursing team. The nurses were absolutely superb in every way — kind, attentive, professional, and endlessly patient. Nothing was ever too much trouble, no matter the time of day or how small the request. I was made to feel safe, cared for, and genuinely supported throughout my stay. Both Mr. Rajaratnam and the physiotherapist that visited me at home ( not the hospital physio's) strongly emphasized not to do any strengthening exercises for the first few weeks but restrict myself to just bending the knee aiming to get a 130 degree bend after 3 weeks. Heating the wound with a hot water bottle helped to loosen up the knee prior to doing this exercise. This was contrary to what the physiotherapists in the hospital were advocating , Anyway after 6 weeks I can bend the operated knee almost as much as I can the other one and I'm walking normally and I am now starting on strengthening exercises.

Mr Hisham Abouzeid was just incredible from initial consultation right through to all my tests, procedure and now on my follow up. He explains everything so clearly and really listened to me. He was easy to speak to and just very understanding. On the day of my surgery he came and saw me before the surgery and after to explain everything to me. The nurses working alongside him spoke so highly of him! I walked into his office with a list of issues and I’m leaving with my diagnosis and treatment. I am so happy he was my doctor!

I received great treatment, including a successful Greater Occipital Nerve (GON) block, in the period leading up to my pregnancy. His approach is brilliant, working in perfect, complementary coordination with my NHS Obstetrician. It is deeply reassuring to have such an expert managing my condition during this critical time.

Her attention to detail was a delight as she went through all my conditions (Ostioperosis, Ostioartheritis, Fibromalgia) as well as advising me on dietary requirements that would help strengthen my bones. Not only did she go into detail but she also took her time to explain everything until it was understood clearly. She truly went above and beyond her duty of care.

The whole experience was seamless and after the surgery I had no pain with only mild discomfort once i had regained neurological sensation in both my limbs after the spinal anaesthesia. I was discharged the day after surgery and have had no real problems mobilising at home since then with small incremental improvements over the last 3 weeks. I also valued the two 'phone calls made to me by Prof. Field to enquire how I was going on.

Parking is easy. Reception staff efficient. Dr Brasse is always welcoming, warm and professional.
