From the moment I first met Dr. Frankel, I could not have been happier. He listened to my history very calmly, and once he saw my scans, he immediately told me the initial and urgent steps I needed to take in order to improve my situation and safeguard my kidneys. He is always very helpful with providing prescriptions, recommendations, etc promptly. Overall, an exceptionally professional and helpful doctor whom it is a pleasure to consult and to be under his care. Highly recommended.

I have had two consultations with Dr Frankel, the first in person and the follow up via telephone. On both occasions Dr Frankel ensured I felt comfortable, listened to my concerns and advised follow up investigation. He explained everything clearly and made sure I had no unanswered questions. Dr Frankel talked me through all test results and although no further treatment required in his specialisation, he was extremely helpful with advice on alternative routes to resolve the issue.

National Guidelines on the Use of SGLT2 inhibitors in people with kidney disease

It is really important that people with kidney disease are offered the treatments that slow down the progression of their disease and reduces harm over time. There are excellent treatments and one of these treatments is a group of drugs known as the SGLT2 inhibitors. I led with a colleague from Oxford and national group of experts that defined how we should use these drugs in people with kidney disease. Do please look at chapter 6 on this interactive guideline site which is an easy to read description of the problem and how these drugs can be used safely to help people with kidney disease receive better outcomes.
