I went to see Prof Lightstone to get an expert‘s view on my unclear condition. She took a lot of time to gather information, shared her thoughts with me and let me participate in deciding what next steps we should take. I feel in very good hands, which took a lot of the anxiety away.
I had a number of tests and Prof Lightstone took the time to take me through the results and explain these.
I was referred to Professor Lightstone when my recently diagnosed Lupus started to affect my kidney. She quickly confirmed diagnosis for nephritis and put me into the best treatment. A couple months later I have already been feeling better than ever and my tests are showing great improvement. Professor Lightstone has been so kind, reassuring, and professional throughout the treatment.
Dr Lightstone is one of the best Drs I've ever consulted with. She's a very calm and relaxed person. She explained to me everything I needed to know about my exams, and was always careful with my case. She made me feel comfortable during the whole time. Thank you Liz!!!
Professor Liz Lightstone put me at ease the moment I met her with her warm and engaging manner. With an incredible attention to detail and knowledge, she reassured me that I was in the best possible hands. She looks at the issue holistically, taking time to understand the cause not just the treatment.
My recent engagement was virtual. It was a follow-up consultation that left me assured and certain we were taking the right decisions for my overall improvement.
Prof Liz has been looking after me since early 2024 when I was diagnosed with pgn mid. She has been awesome in explaining everything and helping me cope with a very rare condition. I am very grateful to be under her care and I would highly recommend her for anything kidney related.
I consulted Prof Liz Lightstone because my kidneys are slowly beginning to misbehave. I expected the session to last no more than the usual 30 minutes, but no – we talked for more than a calm unhurried hour I was impressed not only by Prof Lightstones encyclopaedic knowledege of her speciality [renal medicine] but also by the way in which she skilfully related my kidney problems with other matters and a suspected myeloma. I left the session confident that I was getting the best possible advice given in the most congenial manner.
Prof Lightstone is by far the most amazing doctor I’ve ever met. I came to the clinic an absolute mess as I was so worried about my condition . She was an absolute gem! She was so reassuring and extremely knowledgable in every aspect. She made me feel at ease as she went through all my problems and made a treatment plan. She even emailed me the following day with reassuring results as she knew how anxious I was. I am so honoured to have met such a wonderful , warm person. Wishing her all the best
Professor Lightstone is a key opinion leader in her field, and one of the most skilled and expert nephrologists in the UK and Europe. Liz holds several prestigious clinical and academic positions. She is very kind, attentive, detail oriented, approachable and most of all expert at her field. Highly recommended.

NephrologistI could not be more confident about making a professional recommendation for a colleague than I could be in relation to Prof Liz Lightstone. Prof Lightstone is truly recognised as an international expert across the nephrological world most particularly in the areas of lupus nephritis, the difficult area of pregnancy in the presence of kidney disease and in relation to all forms of glomerular disease. However these areas of expertise are underpinned by an extremely broad knowledge of nephrology built up over many years experience and practice. I would not have the slightest hesitance in recomm...
