Dr. Caroline Platt is a Consultant Paediatric Nephrologist at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, specialising in children's kidney health. She qualified in medicine from the University of Bristol in 2004 and later completed a postgraduate MSc in Genomic Medicine from the University of Exeter.
Dr. Platt is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of children with a wide range of kidney-related conditions, including urinary tract infections, anatomical kidney abnormalities, inherited kidney disorders, inflammatory kidney diseases such as vasculitis, and chronic kidney disease. She has specific expertise in genetic kidney disease and vasculitis.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Platt plays a key role in genomic medicine. She is the deputy clinical director for the South West Genomic Medicine Service Alliance and holds a national role with the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health as their Genomics Officer.
