The operation itself was a tremendous success. There was very little blood, no incontinence and I am gradually returning to a normal pre-BPH life. However, the first few days after the operation were stressful due to constipation for which I received an enema. The Spire nurses were extremely helpful and kind. My recovery after that was very good apart from getting a UTI which was resolved by 7 days of Nitrofurantoin. I waited quite a long time before seeing a GP about this as I thought my urine was cloudy simply from the healing process. This is a SIGNIFICANT issue in my opinion. Patients need more guidance on this dilemma. The longer a UTI goes on the more danger of it becoming chronic. I felt that the follow up appointment at 6 weeks was useful but I really think a second follow up at 3 months should be included in the care package. My bladder is still getting its strength back after so many years of retention and the PVR can still be quite high sometimes but also minimal when the bladder has not been stressed. So in summary, HOLEP absolutely amazing but UTI and bladder recovery can be issues that maybe need a second follow up (perhaps unless clear instructions are given to primary care for follow up).

Thrilled with the care I was given by the psychiatry team, everyone I was in contact with was so friendly and professional. I appreciate the holistic nature of the assessment and feel confident that the results are accurate. The only slight comment I have is about managing the online self-assessments, as one of them was incorrectly identified as being incomplete. This caused some distress since I'd already filled it out on behalf of my mother, who was very unwell, and she'd unfortunately passed away by the time I was notified that the assessment was still awaiting completion. This was quickly corrected when I emailed, however, which was much appreciated. Perhaps allowing patients to save a record of their assessment would be helpful in future, but overall my experience was excellent.

I booked for an adult circumcision procedure at Moorgate. Preparatory work was done very efficiently. I had a face to face consultation with Dr. Fragcoulis and he also performed a visual inspection. After this I was confident that the surgery will go well and I am in the hands of professionals. I had to wait for a few weeks for the surgery but it was worth the wait. On the day of the surgery things went really well once I have arrived. Staff was very friendly, the surgeon was obviously very skilled and efficient and I was out in no time, after having had a nice meal. Recovery goes well and I am happy with the result. I would definitely recommend Moorgate and Dr. Fragkoulis to anyone how would like a high quality service.

He is ably assisted by his 2 wonderful and most efficient secretaries and his optical assistant is also top class. I would totally recommend him to anyone who requires cataract work.

The reason I didn't give five stars to all the points is that the hospital slightly fell down on its admin/paperwork. On my first visit the address of my GP practice was incorrect, although I had given the correct one; the discharge notes were almost illegible; and I was not given an advice leaflet from Bright-Eyes on how to proceed with eye management for the first 24hrs or so, until I was able to speak to Mr Bender.
