Mr Richard Siau

Mr. Richard Siau is a Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Hospitals, providing comprehensive medical and surgical treatments for a wide range of ENT conditions. He has a specialist interest in otology (ear disorders) and leads several key clinical and educational initiatives within his trust.

Mr. Siau studied medicine at Cambridge University and St George’s University of London, graduating in 2012 with multiple undergraduate awards, including the British Pharmacological Society Prize. He completed his early medical training in South Wales, followed by higher surgical training in Otolaryngology across the North West of England. In 2021, he was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, achieving his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2022.

To further his expertise, Mr. Siau undertook subspecialty fellowship training in Otology under Professor Jaydip Ray in Sheffield, gaining advanced experience in complex ear surgery and hearing restoration. Alongside his clinical role, he completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education with Distinction.

Mr. Siau holds several leadership positions within his trust, including Paediatric Lead in ENT, Specialty Training Lead, and Governance Lead in ENT Surgery. He also represents the trust as ENT Lead for the Greater Manchester ENT Clinical Reference Group and serves as Principal Investigator for the TALGITS and STARFISH research trials. In addition, he is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Edge Hill University, contributing to the development of the next generation of doctors and surgeons.
