About Mr Robert Chessman

Mr Robert Chessman is a fellowship-trained Consultant ENT Surgeon specialising in otology, hearing disorders and complex ear disease in both adults and children. Mr Chessman began his surgical career in London before completing higher surgical training in ENT across the Wessex region. He went on to undertake advanced fellowship training in otology, hearing implants and skull base surgery at St George’s Hospital, London, where he developed specialist skills in managing complex auditory and ear conditions.

Alongside his clinical training, he was awarded the prestigious Wessex School of Surgery Human Factors Fellowship and completed a Diploma in Legal Medicine, reflecting his commitment to patient-centred, safe and evidence-based care.

Mr Chessman is actively involved in clinical research and contributes to the ongoing development of ENT practice at a national level. He also has a strong interest in medical education and plays an active role in supervising and mentoring junior surgeons within the NHS.

Mr Chessman has been brilliant throughout the process of our son’s two ear drum perforation repairs, from consultations to surgery and follow up he has always been professional, caring and concise with his advice & information.
