Professional but in a relaxed manner that put me at ease.
I have recently had a full hip replacement under the care of Mr Poole and I cannot recommend him highly enough. From my very first consultation through to my surgery and follow-up care, the entire experience was exceptional. I felt fully informed, listened to, and completely confident that I was in the best possible hands. The hip replacement itself has been truly life-changing. The improvement in my mobility and comfort have been outstanding and I truly feel like I have my quality of life back. I am very grateful for the care, expertise, and professionalism shown throughout my treatment by Mr Poole and his whole team. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone considering hip surgery.
I was very pleased to have Mr Poole as my surgeon for my hip replacement. He explained clearly what would happen and answered any questions I had. The operation went very smoothly and my recovery was swift.
Mr Poole has been excellent from the pre op consultation, during the hospital stay and at the 6 week post op review. He has explained everything in great detail and i will certainly be requesting for his services again for my other hip i a few years time
I would have no hesitation in having my other hip done if needed.
Very polite, friendly and welcoming, put me at ease. Fully explained the procedure. Had to speak to secretary after procedure with a query, who contacted Mr Poole, and I was amazed by the quick response, and reassurance given. Given lots of information to read prior to procedure, which was very useful, and more information regarding exercises and expectations of recovery.
If you're reading this because you have been allocated him as your NHS surgeon or because you're looking for private hip surgery, I can't recommend Mr. Poole enough. He did a hip replacement for me eight weeks ago and the recovery has been amazing, and from week seven I have been walking pain free, without crutches or even a stick! I keep having to pinch myself, the pain before surgery was so awful, it's hard to believe it's now gone. So not only an excellent surgeon (just old enough to reassure you that he's done plenty of hip replacements, but young enough to feel that he's kept up with any advances!), William Poole is also just a genuinely nice man. At our first meeting, I told him that my greatest wish was to get back to ballet class where I am taking exams, and he took me seriously (unlike someone I had previously seen in the NHS musculoskeletal system who told me I was expecting rather a lot of my 67 year old body!) and you do feel like he wants to give every one of his patients the best hip for them, whatever their ambitions. I had total trust in him going into the op. Honestly, I can't thank him enough (and two nights ago, I did my first gentle but pain free ballet class for three years and was grinning from ear to ear by the end....)

thank you for your very kind review. I am thrilled you are getting back to Ballet!
My elderly mother had a hip replacement under mr Poole at spire health care Bristol. The whole process was very positive, and mum was very complementary of Mr Poole and the whole team. She has made a very speedy recovery and is getting her life back again.
Mr Poole gave clear and understandable explanations of my treatments and necessary procedures.
Very happy with the operation. Clear explanations given pre and post op. The op went smoothly and I had a good recovery.
I have the pleasure in working regionally with Mr Poole. He continues to provide expert teaching and is available to discuss challenging cases from across the region, including revision hip and complex trauma work. Mr Poole is an exceptional trauma and hip surgeon whose clinical expertise, sound judgement, and technical skill are outstanding. He is dedicated to providing the highest standard of patient care and consistently achieves excellent outcomes for his patients. As a colleague, I greatly value his expertise and collaborative approach, and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone...
