Had an appointment for hip injections. I was seen on time. The consultant Mr Howell and radiologists Rachel and Natalie were all amazing. They were welcoming, friendly, professional and warm. They helped me to relax, feel comfortable, assured and confident. I have had the absolute pleasure of meeting many of the staff at St Hugh's and would recommend the hospital to anyone. The people are so genuine, lovely, human, friendly and professional. You are welcomed by the reception staff immediately upon arrival and the experience continues throughout. I appreciate that the staff work in a relatively calm setting, but they make the experience. This is a really well run hospital overseen by the director Ellen and her deputy Sarah. The consultants are of the highest quality. This is an amazing local resource which must be protected. The hospital undertake vital NHS work as well as private work. NHS pressures challenge the continued operation of St Hugh's, which would be a tragedy. Thanks and best wishes to everyone! Xx

During my course of treatment and a recent medical procedure, his detailed explanation of the diagnosis and alternative treatments was invaluable. I was referred for Holip surgery by my NHS consultant in Oct 24 as I was self catheterising 4 times daily. In June 25 I was called for a pre-op. Previously I had researched what was involved and sought out private surgery options. By September having heard nothing further from the NHS only that I was still on 'The List' I phoned Spire Manchester. Meeting with Mr Liew a week later I was confident I had made to right decision .Aware I had a huge prostate 240gms that needed surgery I decided there and then to go ahead and received surgery a few weeks later. At age 79 it was the best money I have ever spent. Quickly back on my feet,I was home two days later and soon driving once more. Quite different from the recovery from my Terps prostate op seven years earlier. I found the whole experience very professional and have no hesitancy in recommending Mr Liew at Spire whatsoever if you are in the situation in which I found myself.

Mr Kumar Abhinav

Mr Abhinav carried out successful surgery on a pituitary tumour using an extended approach (this was more complex surgery as there had been a previous, unsuccessful, attempt elsewhere using a standard approach). He was very clear about the risks and benefits of the procedure and I received absolutely amazing care at Southmead postoperatively. I wish I had had my first surgery with him through an extended approach as I wouldn’t have needed further surgery.

From my GP referral to my initial appointment it was less then 2 weeks. Before surgery I had 3 post operation assessments. The operation was completed as a day admission. I was kept full informed and treated with kindness and respect by all the staff. Mr Bhardwaj saw me on the morning before the operation and again later after it had been completed. Again, I was kept fully informed about my condition.

Joshua started by reviewing how I was and I showed him the exercises he'd taught me. Then he asked my opinion on what I felt was important to target next and helped with exercises for that. He also made a video on my phone of an exercise, talking me through it, so I could remember it. Unfortunately I don't live locally so can't access his expertise on a regular basis.
