Booking a septorhinoplasty had been a huge decision, as I had anxiety about the procedure and particularly going under anaesthetic. From my first communication with Julia, I found her to be friendly and open (and very accommodating to my busy work diary and on one occasion lateness to an appointment!). When I met Mr Bast for the first time, I knew straight away that I wanted him to do my surgery. He was incredibly knowledgeable, answered all of my questions and it was clear from my research of him that he was a surgeon to be trusted. I found the whole process from initial booking, to surgery and aftercare, absolutely seamless. Mr Bast reassured my anxieties and I had no hesitation deciding to continue the process with him. Mr Bast’s anaesthetist was also wonderful, very reassuring (as the anaesthetic was my main anxiety) and somebody who I trusted from when I first spoke to him. Following the procedure, Mr Bast kept in contact and was available to answer any queries or worries that I had. I felt as though I was in safe hands, particularly when I had a bad reaction to the antibiotics that I took post-surgery and I was able to speak to him quickly to get advice. Unfortunately I did bruise a little, however I had warned Mr Bast that I may bleed as this is usual for me, however it was nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be. My face recovered quickly and although there is some very, very minor swelling 12 months on, I’m already so pleased with what it looks like and have been since my cast came off after a week. I followed all of Mr Bast’s advice in terms of aftercare and had no issues with my recovery. I’m delighted with the outcome of my procedure, having had my nose completely straightened and aligned to my face. It has helped my breathing significantly, and I have a lot more confidence in my appearance. I can’t thank Mr Bast enough for what he has done.

A bad first impression: I arrived as requested at 7:30 to find no staff in Reception and the whole area in darkness! After about 10 , mins a nurse arrived to take us through to the ward. I had been told by the nurse on the phone doing the pre-op check that I was first on the list. However on the day I was told I was 6th, but suspect there were more than 5 people in front of me, as I was not taken downstairs for the procedure until 1about 11:30.. The problem for me was that I was very nervous and the unexpected delay made me very anxious. During my time in Room 19 the male nurse (?) looking after me did an excellent job, trying to reassure me as well as doing all the necessary preparation. Once I got to the operating theatre everyone was pleasant, efficient and friendly, The sedation was effective and the experience much less unpleasant that the retinal tear repair I had had at Moorfields about 10 years ago. I am now in a much better state to face the procedure on the 2nd eve in a few days time.

From the beginning, I was met by a warm and friendly PA, which set the tone for the entire experience. When I first met Ms. Hunt, I was immediately impressed by her professionalism, deep knowledge, and approachable manner. She conducted a thorough examination to determine the cause of my hearing issues and then sent me for a scan. Afterward, she took the time to explain in detail what she believed the problem might be and the steps we could take to confirm it. She diagnosed a cholesteatoma in my ear quickly and clearly. Since then, I have undergone two procedures: one for a grommet and, more recently, a four-hour surgery during which Ms. Hunt removed my eardrum and cleared the disease. The care she provided throughout the process was exceptional, and the surgical results speak for themselves, my scar has healed well and looks very good. I would confidently recommend Ms. Hunt to anyone who needs to see an ENT specialist. Her expertise, communication, and genuine patient care are outstanding.

My mum recently saw Dr Mumta Joshi for hypertension, and the experience was exceptional. Dr Joshi spent well beyond the allotted time with her, never once making the consultation feel rushed. Instead, she took real care to put my mum at ease, calm her nerves and understand the full picture behind her symptoms. What stood out most was how thorough and thoughtful she was. She reviewed all of my mum’s medical records systematically and asked questions that showed she was genuinely trying to get to the root cause of the hypertension, not just treat the numbers. I went to OSD Hemel Hempstead to get my cast removed following my rhinoplasty. When we got there, we were taken straight to the room & were left there for about 20mins for the nurse to find the equipment, upon her return the appointment was rushed and no information was provided for my aftercare. I was asking many questions however, she seemed reluctant to answer any (as simple as, how long do I need to tape for - she couldn’t answer). Following a conversation with my surgeons direct nurse, I found out that the nurse at OSD had not taped my nose correctly, nor removed the glue from my face. I felt rushed out of the appointment & not very well looked after. My surgeon came to review my nose post cast removal which was reassuring & he mentioned that the OSD nurse would provide me with all the information I’d need - she did not.

I feel the signs to tell you where to go could be clearer my mobility is not good had quite a long walk to get inside the building. My ultrasound scan was carried out with such speed I felt it was rushed, I had to ask for white paper roll to protect my clothes from being wet from the gel ,while the scan was being carried out the nurse sat behind the consultant on his chair ! I feel she should have been at the bottom of the couch standing at my feet reassuring me & asking if I was comfortable.kingsbridge give “an excellent 1st class experience re procedures” I’m afraid in my appointment this was not the case , over the years i have had many experiences with ultrasound and this was the worst , i could not have been on the couch anymore than 4 or 5 minutes very disappointing.
