I have been very happy with my overall experience at Vision Scotland Edinburgh. The staff were both friendly and professional. I was well informed regarding my choices and the procedure. I have been thrilled with the result of the cataract surgery. I was given an appointment very soon after the referral. I would however like to let you know how I felt the experience on the day of the operation could have been improved. Firstly I was not sent the Post Op information which would have been most helpful to read before the procedure. Secondly I got very cold in theatre and was given a blanket but it did take me ages to warm up. It would have been better to have been given a blanket before the procedure started. There is a lot of cold water being used which does add to the chill. Thirdly I was not told to bring sunglasses for the journey home or to bring analogies both of which I would very much appreciated as I lived over a hour away. On the journey home I became extremely uncomfortable. Finally the roof of my mouth and tongue got a little burnt I think by the coffee as they must have been a little bit anaesthetised still when I had the coffee. The coffee however i have to say was absolutely welcome and the best thing along with the toasted teacake. I found it very reassuring to have a telephone number to call which I did use. I also very much appreciate the phone call from the nurse a couple of days post op. I hope you find the above comments of use. I do not wish to criticise as overall it was an extremely good experience and I would and have already recommended Vision Scotland. ( I did tell my neighbour to ask for a blanket!)

The kindness, professionalism, and encouragement shown to me before and after surgery helped me feel confident in my decision and safe throughout the process. The fear of not being present for my family someday scared me far more than surgery ever could. Thank you for the exceptional care, guidance, and support you have all shown me. You haven’t just helped me through a procedure—you’ve helped give me a real chance at a new beginning, and for that I will always be grateful.

I had an excellent experience at the Lindo Wing. Everyone (midwives, baby doctors, anaesthesiologists) were exceptionally calm, supportive, and reassuring throughout my stay. Every step was clearly explained, and all questions were answered with patience and care. Even with the smallest concern about my baby’s health, a neonatologist was promptly invited to carry out a full assessment, which gave me great peace of mind. I was also supported with my baby’s breast attachment immediately in the delivery room, which was incredibly helpful. The rooms are very well equipped, and during delivery both my and my baby’s heart rates were continuously monitored and carefully assessed. After the birth, we received ongoing guidance on next steps, and both my baby’s and my own health were checked frequently and thoroughly.

I was an online client. My first day and many following days, a laptop was placed somewhere (usually with a very minimal view of part of the room) whilst people in the room had a conversation (often it was staff as other patients had left the room/ spent a lot of time waiting for groups to start/ group leaders). Group timings etc weren't stuck to or structured and there seemed no consistency. The hardest part was having to have an 'assessment' i.e. go through my life background in detail (including trauma) a total of 5 times with different members of staff. I'm sorry to say (and likely it's different in person) but there didn't seem to be any genuine care whatsoever. It was a waste of time for me attending here sadly.

I highly recommend Miss Mez Aref-Adib. I’m 39 years old and had a 6 cm fibroid that caused heavy bleeding and severe pain. Dr. Aref-Adib performed my laparoscopic surgery and successfully removed all of the fibroids. She was extremely attentive to my condition after the surgery, followed up closely to make sure everything was going well, and was always available to answer any questions I had during recovery. Three months later, I feel so much better, and there is only a very faint mark left from the stitches on my abdomen. I highly recommend Dr. Aref-Adib—not only because she is highly skilled and professional, but also because she is genuinely kind, caring, and responsive.

Dr Bhatti was the perfect doctor for our pregnancy & birthing journey. We felt so comfortable the whole way through our pregnancy which was entirely due to her tremendous expertise & competency. She was incredibly thorough in making sure my wife was in tip top shape prior to the birth and the procedure itself was seamles. She managed to cater for both my wife’s very relaxed nature and my highly strung one (!) which is no easy feat. Finally the whole healing process has been a dream, barely a mark on my wife following her Caesarean section and she has had a very straightforward and painless recovery. I had an excellent experience with Phillip. He was incredibly warm, kind and empathetic from the outset, and took the time to explain everything clearly in accessible, layman’s terms. I’m not an expert, but I never felt rushed or talked down to — he made a complex situation feel straightforward and manageable. Phillip was also impressively efficient. Within the space of around 30 minutes, he arranged the necessary test, discussed the results, and talked me through next steps. If these appointments had been done separately, it would likely have taken months. I felt genuinely listened to and well cared for, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.

I've been trying to book an initial appointment for last two weeks. I've been emailed times slot for appointment but then we're told that the time slot was taken by another patient. I've called numerous times. But there is no one picking up the phone. Emails are not responded to in timely manner either. I don't know what to think of you're services and what your staff are like because you're team are not there to take calls or email back when we need them. Will you're doctors be the same? Would it be that difficult to get a consultation with them. I'm very disappointed with your reception staff!

Dr Harnik and the team of nurses were excellent as always. Dr Harnik is thorough and explains everything in a very clear manner, and is happy to answer all the questions that a somewhat uninformed parent like me may throw at her! She’s very warm and has an easy manner of dealing with kids, from our 5 month old youngest son to our 3 1/2 year old older son. We’re very glad to have come across her and to have both our sons treated by her and the expert team at Children’s Allergy Doctors. We strongly recommend them to anyone whose children have allergies and who seek expert help!

My son had been complaining of intermittent knee pain for several months. Following a recommendation from our physiotherapist, we arranged an appointment with Mr Sobti. He organised an MRI promptly, which allowed him to diagnose my son accurately, and crutches were arranged immediately. Mr Sobti has been outstanding throughout – professional, thorough, and entirely focused on my son’s recovery. He never recommends unnecessary appointments, unlike some consultants. His priority is clearly his patients and their wellbeing, not his bank balance!

Mr Lamyman has carried out two operations for me - both for Duputren's contracture, one on my left hand and one on my right hand. Both operations were very successful. My fingers are now straight again and I have full use of my hands. In my experience, Mr Lamyman is a brilliant surgeon. I am delighted with the outcome of both operations. He is kind, caring, personable and approachable, managing expections for the outcome and then exceeding them.

This time however was a totally different experience! Mr Clough was thorough with his explanation of the procedure. The operation went well & I left the hospital feeling much more confident this time. The expected pain did not come & I am now in my third week walking without crutches.!!

Very easy to book an appointment, we could have had one the following week but due to not being available we were able to get an appointment the following week on a date and time of our choice. Upon arrival, check in was easy and we were directed to where we needed to be. Staff were friendly and the clinic was very clean. Overall a great experience as it should be for a paid service.
