My experience at The Portland Hospital was exceptional from start to finish. The facilities were outstanding, creating a calm and comfortable environment throughout my stay. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely cared for and supported. The midwives at The Portland Hospital were truly remarkable. They were highly skilled, attentive, and consistently present, which made me feel safe and reassured at every stage of the process. Their professionalism and warmth created an atmosphere where I could fully trust that both my baby and I were in the best hands. After the birth, the level of care continued to be outstanding. The team was incredibly helpful with everything from breastfeeding support to physiotherapy guidance, ensuring that I felt confident and well looked after as a new mother. I am deeply grateful for the care we received and can wholeheartedly recommend The Portland Hospital to anyone seeking exceptional maternity services.

Overall this was a good experience, I had a combined assessment via NHS right to choose. I liked that I was seen in person for this. The wait times were much longer than initially expected however I believe there was a huge influx of patients at the same time that I was referred. The assessments themselves were good with understanding and knowledgeable assessors. The report which I have received is in depth although I did think there may be a professionals insight into the early developmental questionnaire whereas it is just copied into the report. I had a few queries about the report which I am waiting on the answer to and also have asked for it to be sent to my GP which hasn't been done yet but again, this is the lacking wait times. Apart from the wait times, the service was great and I am thankful for their help. I think my referral was made in March 2025 and I am writing this review in December 2025.

Professor Jian Farhadi

Professor Farhadi performed a thigh flap breast reconstruction for me two years ago, and a follow up nipple reconstruction with fat transfer a year ago. While this is a more complex surgery with longer recovery than some, I couldn't be happier with the result. The breast feels and looks completely natural, and is a perfect match for my natural breast. The scar on my thigh has faded completely and is positioned in a way that is unnoticeable. I trust Professor Farhadi completely. He performed by original reconstruction in 2012, which was an implant that also looked great but unfortunately ruptured ten years later due to long term effects from radio therapy. There was no question in my mind of using another surgeon for the follow up procedure. He is a perfectionist and has an excellent eye. He also explains everything very clearly, which helped me make the decision for which route to take both times.

Ms Shikha did my surgery for full hysterectomy. It all went very well my recovery wasn’t that smooth after but soon after I got better with the help of shika and team constantly checking in on me and me being able to reach out. At a very stressful time. I haven’t really got words that praise shika enough. Her efforts for diognoses and the care since have been priceless. Already (and only a little after a week) I am seeing life changing results , having suffered 27 years day in day out. If I hadnt have gone that day for my consultation we would still be in the hellish life limbo dead end… thanks Shika my life ahead is looking brighter and the care and support from her is overwhelming. The medical team were polite, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain each step clearly, which helped me feel reassured throughout the visit. Overall, The Holly Hospital provided an excellent standard of care, and I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking prompt, professional, and compassionate treatment.

I was seen at breast clinic as a precautionary investigation I was nervous but I was met with such friendly natural staff which instantlymmade me feel at ease i was checked by the Dr then sent for a mammogram and then aent for an Uktrasound scan I am pleased to report that everything was normal and no concerns I thanked the dr profusely when he told me that everything was normal and i spoke highly to him about my having all the results within the time i was there I cannot thank you enough and thank the NHS for sending me there as I would not have ever wanted to wait for breast cancer screening results so to have them on the same night was so reassuring Thank you a nmillion times S

I came for a complete tight hip replacement. Staff were all friendly and answered all my questions. Was taken t my room, unpacked got dressed as required. Put on my dressing gown and then read my book. Was taken into pre prep surgery, chatted to the anesthetist and other nurses. Was then moved into the surgery. Operation went well, I was kept up to date during the procedure. I was listening to music throughout. No pain at all, at the end met the surgeons and chatted with them. Went to the recoveryward for about and hour, chatted with the nurses and relaxed. Then taken back to my room and relaxed.

On arrival at reception I was greeted by friendly efficient staff. I was seen by Gurpreet Saini the Head Orthoptist who carried out extensive tests to better understand my condition. She was professional, and extremely thorough, Gurpreet answered all of my questions and was very reassuring. I then saw Professor Jain who discussed the test results and explained the best way forward to address my condition. I have total confidence in his professional expertise and I appreciate that I am being looked after by a first class team. Thank you.

I have been coming for a few years now and have always been happy. However yesterday you had a receptionist that I have not met before who I found to be very abrupt, rude and unhelpful. She told me that I could not book a 4pm appointment as you don't do this. However I have always had a 4pm appointment. She said that she would book me for 4pm, but said that the clinic may be closed and I may not be seen. I usually deal with a very lovely lady called Michaela and this has never been an issue.

The whole process of the day was so professional and personal. From the nurse who took me to theatre taking an interest in my job (and recommending a book - Lem Sissay) To the catering lady (who made sure i was fedcand watered) ,and the ward nurse who went through next steps and made sure I was ok you go home with my wife and daughter. It was my second cataract removal this time on my left eye which was excellently carried out as was the first with the nursing staff preparing me for the operation carrying it out in a very professional way explaining each procedure in a kindly manner. Mr Casha certainly knows his subject and I felt like he really understood my issue. He preempted my condition very well and was able to fill in many gaps in my knowledge that had been bothering me. He is very friendly and easy to talk to and very open to questions as well. He didn’t rush things even though my appointment was quite late and very possibly his last of the day. I felt he took his time to talk to me.

I previously had surgery with Mr Haq for breast cancer and recently had concerns with the other breast. It was easy to book the appointment and seen within 3 days. Consultation was very reassuring and tests completed the same day. I felt confident in the professionalism and care I received by all staff, special thanks to Mr Haq, Nuala and the radiographer who performed my chest x-ray.

Mr. Konan is excellent and came to see me 3 tines when I had my hip replacement last year. He is kind, caring and very experienced in his field. His new practice manager needs to take a leaf out of his book as she is officious and it puts people off, hence my not giving 5 stars for overall experience.
