I had a telephone consultation to talk about my blood test results which are taken to review me as I am on a targeted therapy medication. The results were good, therefore Dana was able to release 2 more cycles to me. We also discussed the upcoming CT and MRI scans which are due in January. I already had the CT appointment but Dana was able to manage the appointment for the MRI to be done on the same day as the CT. Dana has been my consultant for a year now and has helped me through progression in a lymph node, which I had 20 sessions of radiotherapy for, and a subsequent brain metastasis appearing as a consequence of being off of my targeted therapy. I then had my driving licence revoked and she was extremely proactive in getting my licence back which was a huge relief. I feel in very safe hands in Dana's care and it helps to have a kind and understanding consultant who you can build a really friendly relationship with which helps me and my wife immensely

A month ago I had the arthrosamid injection. I had never heard of it and initially I went online to find out how others were treating their oesteoarthritis. I found the Joint Clinic quite quickly and was amazed to read that this injection would last about 3 years rather than 3 months for the NHS cortisol injection. My knee was causing a lot of pain especially when the weather changed. I was unable to walk properly, I couldn't walk up or down stairs. My work involves walking and I really thought I would have to retire because of the pain. From day 2 of the injection, I was beginning to walk without as much pain, about 2 weeks later I wasn't limping or experiencing pain at all. It took about 3 weeks to be able to walk up and down stairs without pain. I no longer need anti inflammatory drugs (that was always hit or miss if they would work). I am very pleased with the outcome at the one month mark and I hope my knee pain is no more for years!

I saw Mr Wu for my carpal tunnel syndrome which I had had for many years. I was just ignoring it as I didn’t want surgery. When I first saw him he was so professional and reassuring. I had my nerve conduction tests done and it demonstrated moderate carpal tunnel syndrome. I then assumed I could leave well alone and he very kindly and assertively said I should have surgery because if I left it the surgery might not be so successful. I had endoscopic surgery under a local block. The whole surgical experience was amazing. His whole theatre team were kind and efficient. My symptoms were cured immediately and I had my first good nights sleep for years. At 6 weeks the hand has healed so well and I’m even back to playing golf. I had a recent admission for a Discectomy under the care of Mr Manoj-Thomas. The entire experience from initial appointment to the actual surgery was just over 6 weeks. During this time I received regular communication to prepare me for my surgery. I was overwhelmed by the high standard of care I received as an in patient from the nursing and medical team. All professionals were courteous calm and maintained my dignity and trust during an anxious time and I am incredibly grateful. My follow up care is continuing and I was very impressed with the phone call I received 2 days post discharge to ensure I was continuing to recover. It's two days since I had major surgery at St Hugh's hospital in Cleethorpes. I still find my eyes tearing up with gratitude at how well they have cared for me. Their consultants are of the highest calibre. And all the staff on the wards, from nurses through to the kitchen, are a joy to witness. Their happiness at work permeates through every nook and cranny. They have looked after not just my body, but my emotions and my dignity. Major surgery is always stressful, but the aftercare I had at St Hugh's has given me a headstart in my recovery. All credit too, to the wise and judicious management in the background. Only good managers could maintain a team who are so united and happy in their jobs. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

The receptionist and the nurse were lovely. However, the consultant made me feel like I wasn’t heard at all, I didn’t really get to talk about anything I wanted to talk about because every time I tried to I was cut off and told I would have to speak to someone else about that but I was confused as I was speaking about the issue I was there for. I also felt like I was penalised for my gp making a mistake and did feel very uncomfortable by the end of the consultation. Which made me quite sad as this is an issue I’ve been dealing with for a couple of years and I feel like I’m still getting no where with it.

Very good overall. Minor gripes only would be the limited parking, limited capacity in waiting areas and that some seating is too low to meet the needs of hip / knee patients . The roll out of the new call centre facility makes for a patchy experience at times and it’s concerning that online accounts fail to show all patient appointments - even with the consultants - which may lead to confusion and potential missed appointments. Work in progress and will surely iron out in time.

Dr Margarita was very knowledgeable and kind. I would definitely recommend coming to the Lantern Clinic. I felt listened too and she emphasised as a woman with my issues. I had plenty of time to chat and didn’t feel rushed,. Dr Margarita devised a plan for me to follow and recommended a gold standard brand of supplements I should start. I am booked in for a follow up appointment in several weeks time, to discuss how my treatment plan went and if I saw improvements.

Dr Pradeep was very thorough with the investigation into my child’s allergies. We were seen promptly after arriving and a full family and child history was taken. The allergy testing was done in the same appointment, as were results and further referrals as needed. As a mum of a small baby, coming out of an appointment with answers and plans in regards to moving forward really puts your mind at ease and that exactly what Dr Pradeep achieved.

The team on the OCD ward incredibly kind caring and compassionate. It's like being part of a family, including the other 5 patients here. Although, it was challenging at times, I've learnt so much about my condition and I now realise that my beliefs does not necessarily mean it's true. If you're suffering with OCD and feel like you're alone or you have nowhere else to turn to, I highly recommend the Nightingale's 28 day inpatient stay.
