About Mr Tan Arulampalam
Mr Tan Arulampalam is a Consultant General Surgeon with over two decades of experience in was lower GI surgery. He is based at the Ramsay Oaks Hospital, Harley Street and Lyca Health Canary Wharf.
Mr Arulampalam gained his Medical Degree at the University of London St. Bartholomew's Hospital Medical School, followed by Basic Surgical Training at Barts, Whipps Cross Hospital, Homerton Hospital, the National Hospital Queen Square and the Royal London Hospital. His specialist Higher Surgical Training was completed at Oldchurch, Whittington, Chase Farm and Colchester Hospitals with the award of Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1996 and Intercollegiate Exam in 2003. During this period, he undertook a two year research post at the Department of Surgery and Institute of Nuclear Medicine, University College London where he was awarded a Trustees Grant to study molecular imaging of colorectal cancer. After being awarded the David Dunn Fellowship by the Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland, he then spent 3 months in Rome under Professor Cristiano Huscher completing his laparoscopic training. He was later awarded the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland Travelling Fellowship (2007) as well as a Royal College of Surgeons of England Research Grant (2008).

Well I was absolutely petrified about having a gastoscopy today , my first experience, Mr Tan was so lovely and understanding, he explained about the precedure to me and with having sedation I have to say for someone who was so scared, it was an amazing experience, I didn't feel or know anything that went on ,i was back in the side booth so quickly ,it took about 2 minutes, I got answers to what my problem was and thankfully nothing serious. So I thank you from the bottom of my heart Mr Tan ,your an amazing consultant, and I would recommend you to everyone.
