Dr. Andrew Kernohan

Dr Andrew Kernohan is a highly experienced Consultant Endocrinologist specialising in medical weight management. He combines his role in private practice at The Weight Loss Medics with his position as an NHS consultant at Greater Glasgow and Clyde NHS Trust, bringing a breadth of clinical expertise to his patients.

He graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 1995 with an MB ChB and also holds a BMedSci in Biochemistry. His commitment to advancing medical knowledge led him to complete an MD through research, and he is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP, Glasgow).

Dr Kernohan has extensive experience in both the research and clinical application of GLP-1 mimetics, widely regarded as one of the most effective classes of weight loss medications. He provides evidence-based treatment options, including therapies such as Mounjaro and Wegovy, tailored to individual patient needs.

Working within a multidisciplinary team that includes dietitians, clinical psychologists, and personal trainers, he takes a holistic approach to care.
