I have now had both my thumb joints replaced over a 2 year period and I can say that it was the best decision I have ever made. I was living with constant pain daily, losing grip to my hands and everyday tasks were becoming hard if not impossible at times. Recovery from the surgery is hard at first, but with determination of doing the exercises and good pain relief the results are fantastic. I’m now pain free and can pretty much do everything I want to do.

Mr/Dr Ullah, is a fantastic Dr/professional surgeon with vast experience. I had seen him in the past before my recent problem & when I had a complication after my surgery he got me in to see him straight away. Truthfully, as I've told him in person, I wouldn't trust anyone else. I know my procedure was through the NHS but he didn't/hasn't treated me or my care any different to a privatepayingperson. Really hope he is still practicing if/when it needs replacing. Thank you for everything.

I am a retired nurse, now aged 81. Proor to surgery, I was really struggling with pain in my hand and daily tasks such as dressing, washing, cooking, cleaning, sketching (art), gardening and driving were becoming progressively more and more difficult and paubful. The thumb joint replacement has completely resolved all these issues and I am delighted. In my case, everything went smoothly. I awoke to find the surgery had been completed. For the first two weeks, I had to be very fey careful. Then, a splint was worn for several weeks. I took pain-relief tablets for only the first two days following the surgery. Thereafter, there was no pain. This surgery is amazing. Based on my own experience, I do not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who needs it and who is a suitable case.

Mr Aamer Ullah was very thorough with his explanation of my symptoms and the reasons why I have the symptoms. He advised me what the healing process was going to be and an approximate time scale. He said I could go back to the gym but to be aware my left hand is currently weaker. My healing could be a slow process but things will heal.
