I made an appointment with Mr Navaratne at his Lindo Wing clinic in St Mary's hospital Paddington. I was looking for  a medical 'answer' to the pain I was in. I underwent a scan in an NHS hospital and was told that a hernia was ruled out which I accepted, but was very confused. Mr Navaratne diagnosed my Umbilical hernia and Diastasis recti. I cannot speak highly enough of the care I received from this appointment all the way through treatment and my Lindo wing stay. I underwent a laparoscopic repair of the umbilical hernia with correction of my diastasis recti. I was in  exceptionally skilled and compassionate professional. I was extremely anxious in my first consultation and also going into surgery, but my surgeon addressed this with remarkable patience, reassurance, and empathy. He took an interest in why I was feeling nervous and took the time to explain every detail thoroughly, answered all my questions with clarity and confidence, and made sure I felt genuinely heard and supported. His calm, reassuring presence made a massive  difference and immediately put me at ease. From a medical standpoint, his expertise is outstanding. The procedure was performed with the highest level of precision and care, demonstrating deep knowledge, advanced technical skill, and meticulous attention to detail. My recovery has been highly supported by Mr Navaratne and his team. He is truly amazing BUT  for me what sets him is the combination of exceptional surgical ability and genuine human kindness. It is rare to find a surgeon who is not only technically brilliant but also so attentive, respectful, and compassionate toward their patients. I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone considering abdominal surgery. Dr Rehman is exceptional! In this meeting, as in all the others, she demonstrated an in-depth knowledge of the issues and her communication was excellent. She always brought us into the solution by helping us understand her prescription choices and the rationale behind them. When she couldn’t give us exactly what we requested or suggested, she always helped we understand why and then provide more suitable alternatives. Vanessa S is the perfect person for her role and puts people at ease immediately. She secured me a hearing test and a consultation appointment on the same day. She also helped me with some of the administrative elements of using my private healthcare as the process has changed since I last used it. Very helpful, friendly, professional and reassuring. I was greeted on arrival, immediately shown to the waiting area and taken straight through to my first appointment, even though I was a few minutes early. Cannot fault the service I received and the care and professionalism was consistent throughout.

I was impressed at how quickly I was treated. Getting an X-ray of my injured shoulder immediately on my first visit and MRI a week later. Mr Adam explained everything very clearly, and sent a written summary. At my third consultation. He administered an injection which helped me have greater mobility of my arm and reduced the pain. This was followed up by a visit to the physiotherapist who gave exercises to strengthen my upper arm muscles. I was impressed with the friendly, efficient and professional service received from all the staff involved in my treatment, as well as by the clear explanations given.

I am transformed! I came to see Mrs Langton Hewer because I had suddenly gone completely deaf in one ear. She listened to me when I explained my anxieties and then examined my ears. She diagnosed otis externa which was causing pain and there was water behind the wax causing deafness. She then very carefully removed wax and debris from my ear and my hearing was immediately restored. I am so grateful that this was diagnosed so expertly and then sorted out immediately. I would strongly recommend her for ear problems and for removal of ear wax. Thank you.

On Saturday, I attended Canterbury Hospital at 7:30 am for a minor operation on my finger. Two nurses looked after me and prepared me beforehand. Emma went out of her way to help. I had a very good discussion with the test and we decided that general anaesthetic would be the best route. Mr. Smith carried out the operation and I was lucky to see him afterwards when I came round and he said it had been completely successful. Everything seemed very calm, organised and professional. Friendly staff at Main Reception who gave clear directions to Imaging Department. Department staff were friendly, professional and efficient. Radiographer was great - clear with his questions and explanations. Changing room was a good size, but would benefit from redecoration and coat hooks/hangers would be useful. Overall, a good experience, but would have liked the report to have been sent to the referrer quicker.

It’s a stressful experience having surgery so all the fact that everyone is so pleasant, professional, kind and thoughtful, makes all the difference. The facility is extremely welcoming, spotlessly clean and the fish tanks are a nice touch. Unfortunately the only criticism is the lack of parking.
