had a right knee replacement with Mr. Sam Rajaratnam just over two weeks ago on 3rd November 2025, and what I had feared would be a difficult and painful operation turned out to be completely painless. Sam is extremely kind, patient and reassuring — perfect for someone as nervous as I was. I had delayed doing this surgery for a year and a half and even cancelled the operation twice before finally going through with it! Mr. Rajaratnam has built an outstanding team, including an exceptionally experienced anaesthetist, Dr. Barry Philips; a kind and highly competent nurse consultant, Ms. Christine Howis; and an excellent senior physiotherapist, Felicitas Gatti, who visits me at home to guide my post-operative exercises. I was also extremely impressed by all the medical staff at the Cleveland Clinic hospital, who provided exceptional care throughout my stay. Whilst at the Cleveland, Sam visited me daily, and even came in today after my staples were removed to check on my progress. Mr. Rajaratnam’s expertise is evident—he has performed over 7,000 knee replacements—and the level of care and support I received was extraordinary. I was expecting a significant increase in pain once the stronger medication stopped a week after surgery, but to my surprise, I remained completely pain-free. I am extremely grateful to Sam and his wonderful team. I’ll be back for my other knee as soon as I’m up and running again!

During one of my session, Lee even took me to the gym and guided me through three leg machines, explaining how this next stage will help me progress. His attention to detail and genuine concern made all the difference and he ensured I understood every step of my treatment. The entire Pixie and Sera team was extremely professional from scheduling either online or by phone to reception at the clinic. They all ensured I was seen within minutes on my appointment days. Keep up great job! Suggestion - If we could get appointments and at least tests and labs done over the weekends. Maybe half days on Saturdays? It is hard for some of us to come on weekdays hence all my appointments had to be done late in the evenings. If I had an option for Saturday I would've preferred that than late in the evenings. Thank you!

The overall experience was excellent. As an NHS patient I felt I waited too long which affected my mental health and mobility, this wait has impacted on my recovery. I would have waited even longer if I hadn’t gone to my GP and asked for my operation to be escalated. The whole process took six months of physio initial NHS xray took a further 5 months to see the consultant then a further 4 and a half months for op. This has been a nightmare. I am however extremely appreciative of my operation and the treatment I have received during my stay at Hoarders. Also on the discharge sheet I was given a number to call for worries and questions once I got home this number was however not answered and my answer phone message was not called back.

I don’t think there’s ever been another time in my life when I’ve given more than one review (and even then I’ve only done so when I thought whatever the particular activity, service, whatever has been exemplary). I’ll make an exception for Mr Scala and his team by giving a second review. I’ve had various challenges with my eyes over most of my life (at least partly as a result of being very short sighted) and issues related to my eyes scare me silly. Against this backdrop, I cannot recommend Mr Scala and his team more highly - I could go on with various experiences etc, but think it sufficient to simply say I would not go to anyone else by choice … I don’t think there’s anyone better.

The staff were absolutely brilliant. So very friendly whilst remaining professional. My appointment was for 11.30 and whilst I accept there is always some waiting time I didn't expect 2 hours. I had another doctor appointment for 2.20 and I was beginning to panic that I would not be ablecto attend. My other complaint,along with several other patients was how very cold the rooms were We were sat in our winter coats and still feeling the cold. Paul, a staff member did eventually turn the heating on/up.

Overall an efficient and excellent course of treatment. Because I have hearing loss occasionally hearing explanations was challenging.. The first time I have had a urethral catheter. Looking at the catheter passport information it recommends a catheter securement device similar to a Velcro strap. Unfortunately I was offered no such device and had difficulties with the tubing since it extended almost as far as my knee cap. Using plasters etc was not helpful since it had to be removed when urinating.

I found starting with the Receptionist and then on to the Nursing Staff and anyone I came into contact with, both polite, friendly and caring. I cannot think of any situation where I was made to feel uncomfortable. I find Mr Ijsz Sheikh a very pleasant and polite gentleman with whom I feel comfortable and able to talk over sight problems.

Would highly recommend Mr Sahu. He was thorough and took the time to explain my situation to me. It was reassuring to know that the treatment I had already been receiving for my AMD was appropriate but he also highlighted the need for cataract surgery in both eyes. Our one-year-old daughter needed an MRI and an gastroscopy,, both of which required general anaesthesia. We asked Dr. Vadamalayan if they could be performed together so she would only need to undergo general anaesthesia once. It was very difficult to arrange this, but Dr. Vadamalayan truly did his utmost and managed to get both procedures done in a single session
