Mr Mohammed As-Sultany

Mr As-Sultany is Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon based at Mersey & West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust with a sub-specialist interest in primary and revision hip and knee joint replacement surgery. He applies the latest techniques in the assessment and management of patients with painful hip and knee joints to ensure they achieve improved mobility and quality of life. Mr As-Sultany successfully completed his specialist orthopaedic training in the highly regarded Mersey Deanery and obtained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons award in 2020. He went on to complete the internationally renowned Sir John Charnley Wrightington Fellowship, which provided advanced specialist arthroplasty training. 

Mr As-Sultany has a strong academic background with numerous national and international presentations as well as peer reviewed publications. Besides several qualifications, he also holds an MSc degree in Orthopaedic Engineering from Cardiff University. This distinctive degree provides him with the necessary knowledge to choose the ideal implants and techniques, which provide the best outcomes for his patients. He is passionate about teaching and is a regular faculty member on ATLS and FRCS exam courses. His PGCert qualification in Medical Education allows him to supervise trainee doctors and allied health professionals. He is an active member of the British Orthopaedic Association, British Hip Society and Royal College of Surgeons. 

Besides leading a busy professional life, Mr As-Sultany enjoys spending time with his young family and tries to make time to pursue his interests in playing football and tennis.
