Mr Jeremy Newman

Mr Jeremy Newman is a Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon based in the West Midlands. He practises privately at Stourside Hospital in Stourbridge and West Midlands Hospital in Halesowen, both part of Ramsay Health Care UK, and holds NHS consultant posts at New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton and Russell’s Hall Hospital in Dudley, where he is a member of the Black Country Vascular Network.

He graduated from Imperial College School of Medicine, London, in 2000. He completed his basic surgical training in Oxford and undertook higher surgical training in the West Midlands, developing expertise across all areas of vascular surgery.

Mr Newman’s clinical interests include the management of aortic aneurysms, peripheral vascular disease, carotid artery disease and varicose veins. He has a particular focus on minimally invasive treatments for varicose and thread veins performed under local anaesthetic. Trained in Duplex ultrasound, he uses this to diagnose venous conditions and plan tailored treatments. His range of treatments includes radiofrequency ablation, varicose vein stripping, micro-phlebectomies and sclerotherapy.

He holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of Leicester, where his thesis examined complications of blood pressure disorders following carotid surgery. He has published extensively and presented his research nationally and internationally. His more recent work has focused on optimising techniques in minimally invasive varicose vein surgery, including contributions to the 3-RF Trial and studies on treatment protocols for radiofrequency-induced thermal therapy.

Mr Newman is a member of the British Medical Association, the Royal College of Surgeons and the Vascular Society.
