Mr Daniel Brown

Mr Daniel Brown is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising exclusively in hand and wrist surgery. He is based at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where he serves as Clinical Lead for the Hand Surgery team. His practice focuses on the surgical and non-surgical management of conditions affecting the hand and wrist, with particular expertise in wrist arthritis and wrist trauma.

Mr Brown has held several senior professional and educational roles within his specialty. He is a former elected Council Member of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand and has previously served as the Royal College of Surgeons of England Hand Tutor, contributing to national surgical education and training.

He is an Honorary Associate Professor at the University of Liverpool, where he undertakes clinical and translational research. His research interests include wrist replacement surgery, the management of wrist fractures, and the treatment of complications such as non-union, malunion and instability. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, including The Lancet and The Journal of Hand Surgery, and regularly contributes to the academic literature in hand and wrist surgery.

Mr Brown works closely with the medical device industry and acts as a consultant to orthopaedic implant manufacturers, including Acumed LLC and Swemac Innovations. He has been involved in the design and development of implants used in the treatment of wrist fractures and arthritis. He is regularly invited to teach and speak at national and international meetings on wrist replacement surgery and wrist trauma.
