I am a consultant orthopaedic surgeon, specialising exclusively in hand and wrist surgery, at Liverpool University Hopsitals NHS FT where I am the clinical lead of the hand team. I am currently an elected member of council of The British Society for Surgery of the Hand and have previously been the Chair of the Education and Training Committee and well as being The Royal College of Surgeons of England's Hand Tutor.

I am an Honorary Associate Professor at The University of Liverpool where I conduct research into a variety of topics including wrist replacements; treatment of wrist fractures and the management of their complciations and have pubished many papers in journals such as The Lancet and The Journal of Hand Surgery.

I work closely with industry and am a consultant for Acumed LLC, a orthopaedic trauma implant manufacturer from the USA, and Swemac, a manufacturer of wrist replacements from Sweden.

I am married with two teenage daughters and live on The Wirral. In my spare time I enjoy sailing and skiing as well as travelling and have an interest in photography.

Main interests are in the management of trauma and problems as a result of trauma, including non-unions, mal-unions and instability. I am a consultant for a major trauma implant manufacturer, have designed several implants used to treat fractures and published many articles on management of wrist fractures.

Management of arthritis including joint replacements in the wrist and hand. I am a consultant, teach for and perform research for one of the major wrist replacement manufacturers.
