Went straight in for Xray’s then saw mr popa within 5 mins of sitting waiting. He’s always friendly and explains everything clearly showing Xray’s and stating what happens next. Overall very happy with my experience
A very kind caring surgeon. Gave me good clear advice about my recent surgery and listened to my questions and gave me good clear answers regarding my recovery
Very professional and friendly Very reassuring re patient concerns “In safe hands”
I suffered for over 2 years with Sciatica causing fiery pins and needles and numbness traveling from my buttock all the way down my leg to my right foot. This was made unbearable by increasingly severe pain worse than I have ever experienced and for which pain relief just didn’t work. I got in touch with Mr Popa about a year ago who recommended a staged approach to treating the cause of my symptoms. At the outset he identified the root cause of my condition as likely compression of the L4 and L5 area of my spine. This was later confirmed in an MRI scan as L5/S1 lateral recess stenosis. After two steroid injections into the affected area which were not as effective as we had hoped, Mr Popa determined that a decompression operation in the form of right L5/S1 decompression surgery by which the right S1 nerve root was to be decompressed in the hope that this would alleviate my pain. I am delighted to say that the moment I woke up in the recovery area after my operation, I was pain and symptom free and have been in over a month post operativly. Mr Popa’s careful and considered approach and advice in treating my symptoms combined with his undoubted expertise in the operating theatre has made an incredible difference to my life going forward. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Popa if you have a a spinal condition.
Dr Popa has given me my life back . 20 + yrs of pain to being pain free . Always polite informative before and after my operation . I will be forever grateful for his care
My whole experience from start to finish couldn't have been better
I seen Mr Popa as I had a herniated disc and was in real agonising pain, Mr Popa reviewed my scan results and explained in detail to me what the problem was. He organised for me to have an injection which after 4 weeks has eliminated the pain
A highly skilled surgeon with a no nonsense approach to care.
