Mr Sam Jonas is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in knee replacement and hip replacement. Mr Jonas currently works in a high-volume NHS orthopaedic department and is part of a regional network that manages complex knee replacement cases referred from across the area. His clinical practice focuses on restoring function, relieving pain, and helping patients return to their everyday activities as safely and efficiently as possible.
He completed his orthopaedic training in Bristol on the prestigious Severn Deanery rotation, followed by specialist fellowships in complex knee surgery in Cardiff and Exeter and complex hip surgery in Exeter. This advanced training provided extensive experience to provide the latest and best proven techniques.
Mr Jonas offers robotic Mako arm assisted joint replacement at the Nuffield hospital in Bristol.

The only problems that occurred were that prior to the appointment I was given a screen to tap in my information. As I am not technically aware I was not able to do all the information needed. Luckily my husband was with me and done it on my behalf. It did take a while to fill out.

I found Mr Jonas to be very friendly and professional, he always made me feel at ease. He performed my right knee replacement in June 2026 and made sure I was comfortable and in no pain. I did not have much pain following my operation and was discharged from hospital on the following day. The scar was very neat and after 4 months is barely noticeable. After 3 months I was able to walk distances without any sticks or crutches and could easily perform all exercises, so very pleased and satisfied with the new knee. The follow up appointments were well organised and Mr Jonas was very thorough to ensure that I had no problems. I would recommend this Consultant to anyone requiring a knee replacement.
The whole process from initial consultation to being signed off, went very smoothly and timely. I was able to attend local hospital for pre and post appointments, x-rays. Good coordination with post op physio. Excellent care throughout. Thank you

I recently had a partial knee replacement by Mr Jonas. I have to say I'm very happy with the outcome, I currently 6 weeks post op and everything has gone smoothly. I saw Mr Jonas again yesterday for my check up. I had several questions for him with ref to my future with my partial knee and he answered everything very clear. A very professional and polite manner.
