Dr Fawad Hameed

Dr Fawad Hameed is a highly experienced respiratory consultant who specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of chest and breathing problems. He provides expert care for:

- Asthma and breathing difficulties

- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
(COPD) and other long-term lung conditions

- Persistent coughs and unexplained
breathlessness

- Chest infections and recurrent pneumonia

- Sleep-related breathing disorders,
including sleep apnoea

- Lung cancer screening, diagnosis and
follow-up care

Dr Hameed trained across the South West and completed an fellowship at Oxford in Pulmonary Interventions, gaining expertise in procedures such as bronchoscopy, pleural ultrasound and endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS). Alongside his private practice, he works at the Great Western Hospital, where he also leads the Targeted Lung Health Check Programme (Lung Cancer Screening) in Swindon.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Hameed is actively involved in postgraduate training and medical education as a Foundation Training Programme Director, supporting and mentoring the next generation of doctors. He also contributes to quality improvement and service innovation projects within the NHS, helping to enhance patient care and modernise respiratory services.
