I had a problem with my hips for a while but after I retired last year the pain in my right hip got worse. I was looking forward to enjoying more walking and playing with the grandchildren but I was unable to do this. I was referred to micats and for a few months I managed to go about daily living but I was in pain and couldn't walk far. Suddenly the pain went to the next level and si the physio referred me to the orthopedic team and within 2 weeks I had a letter to ring and arrange an appointment. I was able to choose who I wanted to see and where. I had heard very good reports about Mr Malek, ge had replaced a knee for my brother and a hip for my friends husband . So I asked to see Mr Malek at Rowley Hall on the NHS and I was offered an appointment the following week. Mr Malek was very professional with a warm and friendly approach. He told me I would need a right hip replacement and it would be done in 2- 3 months. Exactly 2 months later I had the op. I went to theatre at 11.30 and was back home eating my dinner at 6.40 that evening! Really amazing. The scar was small and the post operative period uneventful. Within a few weeks I was walking without crutches and the awful pain from pre-op was completely gone. I cannot sing Mr Maleks praises loud enough. I'm doing all rhe things in retirement I wanted to do ... painfree

Dr Douglas was incredibly patient, thoughtful and meticulous. She took the time to listen to all of my concerns, and conducted all necessary examinations thoroughly, providing me with the medical reassurance I urgently needed. Miss Ruda was extremely organized and helped plan and arrange the logistics of the many tests required. Given the urgency of my situation, she managed to coordinate these appointments within a very tight window, which was a huge relief due to my upcoming long-haul flight. I simply cannot thank them both enough for the incredible help and care I received.

I am delighted with the whole experience around my journey from initial referral to Mr. Nair through the HoLep procedure and stay at the London Bridge Hospital and follow-up. I have been treated with courtesy and kindness . The process of pre-surgery checks and appointments has been efficient, well-communicated and all points of contact both friendly and helpful. Mr. Nair has been kind, reassuring and very clear in his descriptions of the various procedures open to me and the pros and cons of each. My stay in hospital was a pleasant as these things can be. The front desk staff are very friendly and efficient and Courtney, the physio that I've been seeing, has worked really hard to get me back to a pain-free full range of motion after an injury. I'm not quite there yet and there's been ups and downs en route but Courtney has constantly adapted and I have full confidence that we'll get there. I've seen physios before but Courtney and the experience at PSM St Paul's has been head and shoulders above any treatment that I've had previously.

This is my 2nd hip replacement with a different surgeon. What I appreciated was Mr Briant-Evans' approach - he was welcoming, understanding, engaged with his patients and was reassuring and positive. He explained things well so that you know what to expect from the surgery. My hip has healed very well and the scar is neatening up nicely after 6weeks. I have had pretty good hip stability from the start and I'm further along than I expected to be. After 6weeks of recovery, I would heartily recommend Mr Briant-Evans if you're looking at who to choose.

The appointment was for an electocardiogram and ECG. The technician was very helpful, pleasant and thorough, but I did find difficulty in lying on either side as I have lost weight and felt the pressure from the table. Very pleased that my wife was able to come in and view the procedure, so any questions asked she could help with if necessary as I have poor hearing. I was able to see Dr O'Sullivan with the results quickly and it was beneficial to us that our son-in-law Kevin was able to be present as well as my wife.

I had an appointment for GBS test on Monday bit disappointed really on the website it said we take 2 swabs also said we can book with someone to take the Sab, which I did, but on the appointment, I was only given tools to do it myself. As being heavy pregnant it's really difficult to do and main reason I went private, paid extra and travelled all the way so, someone will do it for me accurately ( if I had to take swab myself, i would have ordered home kit, reduced so much hazel / money/ time). .

From reception to outpatients all staff were friendly and helpful. I didn’t have a tea or coffee but it’s nice to know it’s there if one wants a hot drink. On the way out to the car park I did nearly trip and fell over due to uneven ground and no lighting. This is my only complaint. My ankle nearly gave way on me but I managed to prevent myself from falling. I would advise a resurface and some serious lighting be put into the car park as soon as possible please.
