    Ms Rachel Clarkson

Working with Rachel has been genuinely life-changing. My name is Kevin, I'm in my 40's and a buisness owner in London. Over the past nine months, through a sustainable and healthy approach to eating and nutrition, built around a highly personalised, DNA-based programme through The DNA Way, she has helped me lose 21kg to date. I started this journey at 102kg and am now down to 81kg, with my next weight goal being approximately 77kg. Just as importantly, the focus hasn’t only been on weight, but on overall body composition and long-term health. I began at 31% body fat and have reduced this to 22%, with a clear and realistic goal of reaching 15% body fat in a safe and sustainable way. Throughout this process, I have learnt an incredible amount about nutrition, food choices, and how the body actually responds to what we eat. It’s honestly surprising that this level of education isn’t taught in schools, given how fundamental it is to living a healthy, balanced and nutritious life. Rachel doesn’t just tell you what to do, she explains why, which has completely changed how I think about food and nutrition long-term. This has very much been a lifestyle change, not a diet. A key part of the process has been how highly personalised everything has been, using DNA-based nutrition through The DNA Way to tailor the approach specifically to me. This has made it much easier to stay consistent, as the plan fits into my busy work and social life and includes foods that I genuinely enjoy, rather than feeling restrictive. The journey has not been straightforward, as I have a number of medical challenges that need to be carefully factored into everything we do. These limitations have restricted how much physical exercise I’ve been able to carry out, meaning progress hasn’t been driven by training alone. Instead, we’ve had to be thoughtful, strategic, and creative in our approach. Rachel has been exceptional at adapting plans around these constraints, ensuring that everything remains safe, realistic, and achievable while still delivering consistent results. Despite these challenges, progress has continued, and that’s been one of the most reassuring parts of working with Rachel. There is always a clear plan, measurable goals, and a structured approach that keeps things moving forward without compromising my health. I’m confident we will reach the remaining goals by staying disciplined, trusting the process, and continuing to work to the plan we’ve put in place, particularly because the approach is tailored to my DNA and therefore works for me as an individual. The biggest takeaway I can give anyone considering working with Rachel is that success comes down to discipline and consistency, but those are made much easier when the approach fits around real life and is built specifically for you. Rachel provides everything you need, including the education, structured plans, guidance, and recipe ideas, but it’s up to you to follow through. If you commit to the process and apply what she teaches you, the results will come. I’m living proof that even with medical limitations, a busy lifestyle, and long-term habits to change, meaningful and lasting change is absolutely possible with the right support and approach.

On arrival I waited in the reception area and there were already 3 other patients waiting for admission. The escort took the first one up and followed with the second and third. On his arrival back in reception he then disappeared through a side door. I thought he probably needed the bathroom but by the time it was 7.35 (and I had been waiting since 7am) I asked reception when I was going to be shown to my room. At which point he phoned the escort who then reappeared. When the nurse came to talk me through everything on admission I had to ask about the emergency call button. She had completely forgotten it and left it on the wall. When I came to put on my theatre gown one of the ties was missing at the neck I was told to just hold it Surely a hospital I am paying so much for can afford another gown?? I gave her my medication and she pushed it into the bedside cabinet and nothing further was done with it until I asked later in the day. I was amazed that the omezrapole had been missed off my medication list. I had to ask for it despite me going through all my medication at both pre- assessment (where I was told it was very important to take) and admission so it was all on the computer. Then, as they hadn’t been given my medication earlier in the day, the pregabalin had not been written up in time and was prescribed to start the following day (also see above about computer listings) I had to insist that I needed it that night. I was never asked if I wanted help to wash or shower so had nothing during my 2.5 days on the ward. And as I was tethered to the bed with a catheter I could not get to the bathroom on my own. Catering - staff were very pleasant but the menu seemed to be very rice based. Also it would have been nice to have a couple of tea/coffee rounds during the day instead of having to bother the nurses by pressing the emergency button to ask for a drink. I kept complaining how dry I was and had difficulty to even talk but I was never offered a saline drip. It took 3 days plus for this to wear off by drinking lots of water which in turn caused a lot of acid reflux from my hiatus hernia - something that has been ongoing since my discharge. The dry mouth also made it very difficult to swallow medication. Physios were very pleasant girls who walked me round the ward and gave me a leaflet about exercises but didn’t actually make me do even the simplest of them. On discharge I was fitted with a catheter. My discharge notes told me to go to a GP in 7 days for removal. Apparently GPs do not provide this service and when I phoned the ward for help the nurse was horrified that I had been given those instructions and that an appointment had not been arranged for me to go back to the Harborne. I am attending tomorrow so I will be interested to see if this all takes place. Overall this is the fourth private hospital I have been in and although the surroundings are probably the best I felt the 'in house' service was probably the worst. This is with the exception of the consultant, theatre staff and Claire (one of the night time nurses)

20/10 I was recommended to Dr Alek by multiple friends, including one who is a doctor herself and trained under him. He came highly, highly recommended and is known as the best in the business — and I can completely understand why. From the moment I walked into the practice, I was warmly greeted by Sam, the practice administrator. She was friendly, welcoming, and made me feel right at home. Thank you, Sam! I’ve seen many aesthetic doctors and practitioners before, and Dr Alek is by far the best I’ve ever experienced. Previously, consultations felt rushed — numbing cream applied, a quick question about what I wanted, and straight into the procedure. With Dr Alek, it was completely different. We began with a thorough consultation where we discussed my concerns, the procedures I was interested in, and everything I’ve previously had done — including where, when, and any medications I’m on. He then did a full facial assessment, looking at proportions, symmetry, and structure. He carefully felt for any existing filler or lumps, explained what they were, and clearly walked me through what we can and can’t do moving forward. Everything was explained in a way that was detailed yet easy to understand. We created a thoughtful plan of action together, and what stood out most was that he never once tried to “sell” me on anything — something I’ve experienced with every other practitioner before. It’s immediately clear that he truly cares about his patients, has an incredible passion for what he does, and an exceptional eye for detail. He really knows his craft. Today we did Botox, and it was genuinely pain-free. He is precise, intentional, and incredibly gentle. As soon as I left, I couldn’t wait to call my husband and tell him how amazing the experience was. I’ve now officially joined my group of friends who cannot recommend Dr Alek highly enough. Thank you, Dr Alek and team!

I had been thinking about the PlexR eyelid lift procedure for a few years, and I’m so glad I found Dr SW Clinics, as if was important to me to be in the experienced hands of medical professionals. Right from my consultation with Dr Abdi I was put at ease, he answered all my questions and explained everything to me, and there was no pressure to go ahead with the procedure. On the day Dr Abdi ensured I was made comfortable throughout the procedure, and during my recovery period my queries were always answered promptly. I am delighted with the results, and can only thank whole-heartedly Dr Abdi and the team for their attentiveness, their professionalism and friendly approach. I’d have no hesitation in recommending the services of Dr Abdi, and would definitely approach them again in the future.

I attended Spencer Ashford Hospital which was easy to find and was able to park nearby in the carpark using a Blue Badge displayed. Access was at ground level with no steps. Reception staff greeted me straight away and booked me in, provided necessary to complete my procedure. Toilets were easily accessed just off Reception and there is a water machine free. All staff including the medical team that I saw were engaging, jovial yet professional. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing with about three patients waiting. Mr Georgios Papadopoulos explained the procedure that I was undergoing in depth and was unrushed and very calm and inquired whether I had questions. His team were as fantastic ensuring that I was at ease throughout. At no point did I feel under pressure to leave after the procedure.

I injured my back the week before Christmas — I could not even walk with the pain. I emailed Dr Swan over the weekend not expecting a response until Monday. I should’ve known from my previous experiences that he really cares about his patients and their outcomes so I was not surprised when he called me at home in the evening to discuss what I could do to immediately to relieve the spasm and a plan of next steps for investigations and treatment. I could not think of a safer pair of hands to be in when you are in severe pain and dealing with a spinal injury.

This time however was a totally different experience! Mr Clough was thorough with his explanation of the procedure. The operation went well & I left the hospital feeling much more confident this time. The expected pain did not come & I am now in my third week walking without crutches.!!
