I booked my appointment directly with Parkside Hospital, Wimbledon, so I didn't attend the London Heart Clinic nor any HCA premises, so my comments relate entirely to Parkside Hospital. 1 - Booking the appointment was a welcoming experience, Tanya was friendly, polite, courteous and easy to converse with. 2 - A follow up email was sent with the appointment details and patient information form which gave some scant details that would not in themselves form the basis of a contract imo. 3- On arrival for the appointment, I was asked to sign a form in 3 places. I was not given a copy of it nor given a chance to take it and read it in the waiting area, I was just asked to sign it, without it being read. 4 - on the basis that this document is in fact a contractual document setting out terms and conditions, which I didn't get to read, this is very poor practice, and could be challengeable. I also have no idea whether it made any reference to 'consent' within it. 5 - I was not handed a copy of the form before or after signing, and the form, with my signatures, has not been emailed to me subsequently, and it is now 2 days after the appointment. 6 - I arrived early for my appointment in the hope that I might be seen earlier than planned, but in the event, I was actually taken in for my appointment 25 minutes after my appointment time, but on the other hand, I had some 50 minutes, so I might have delayed someone else or made Dr Hinton late on leaving. Having said that, he didn't rush me at all, and I am very grateful for this. 7 - Dr Hinton himself was a pleasure to consult with. He made me feel at ease, and he enabled me to feel validated, and heard. He was kind and supportive and I felt I had found someone I could trust. Trust is a super important factor to me, as I've had so many bad experiences in the past. 8 - Dr Hinton grasped matters quickly and set out a case management plan, and dictated his letter to my GP in my presence, for which I am grateful. The only issue I have with that is, that I would rather the NHS GP is not involved, as I have no faith in NHS medical services right now, and I would wish to refer the letter to my health insurers, but am not sure how this will be done, and particularly so, if I am reluctant to speak with my NHS GP? I'm hoping that I will also be furnished with a letter that I can produce to my health insurers, so as to get authorisation for a scan plus it's super important that the letter has been sent to the right GP practice, and I hope it has. I did amend this quickly on the form. This has left a bit of a grey area for me, and I don't know if it was mentioned on the form that I was asked to sign without being able to read through it or be furnished with a copy so I could read it whilst waiting and ask for any amendments? 9 - Parkside is easy to access but it's looking a bit shabby in the outpatients area from my perspective, and the staff look a bit unkempt. My aunt was awarded an MBE for her services to nursing nearly 40 years ago, sadly, she is no longer with us, but she was a stickler for her staff having pristine uniforms, admittedly in the days when nurses wore hats and cuffs, proper uniforms, and butterfly belts, but she was always immaculately turned out and took a pride in her appearance, as well as her work. I often think that today, it begs a question about infection control, or moreover, the lack of it. 10 - it would have been nice to have someone volunteering to work the drinks machine. Older people are afraid to ask but are often dehydrated when waiting, and as we age, technology becomes quite challenging, even a drinks machine!

I was greeted by an amicable, polite & efficient receptionist on arrival and shown to the waiting room where member of the theatre staff would come for me and explain what would happen next. Kate introduce herself and on knowing I have profound hearing loss made sure that I understood everything. She prepared me well with the required eye drops and made sure I understood the process that would happen in theatre. Having escorted me into theatre she introduced me to Mr Shafiq, the surgeon and the other theatre staff. Mr Shafiq is very approachable and explained clearly what was going to happen. During the procedure he talked me through what he as about to do and what I would see. He was very reassuring throughout the whole procedure which took about 10 mins. He explained clearly about the eye pad, the eye drops etc and Kate made sure that I had understood this before she escorted me to the waiting room. Overall, an excellent team and excellent care; even better than I'd expected because of my profound hearing loss.

My appointment with Dr Elizabeth Kulakov was an extremely positive experience from start to finish. I was seen promptly at the scheduled time, which immediately set a reassuring and professional tone. Dr Kulakov took the time to listen carefully to my concerns, asked thoughtful questions, and explained everything clearly and calmly. I felt that she was genuinely attentive and thorough, never rushed, and very focused on providing the best possible care. The examination and treatment were carried out with great care and professionalism, and Dr Kulakov explained each step along the way, which helped me feel comfortable and well informed. The advice I received was clear, practical, and tailored to my situation, giving me confidence in the next steps. I left the appointment feeling reassured, well looked after, and fully satisfied with the level of care and expertise provided.

I found Mr Will Poole incredibly helpful and precise with his explanations about my scan results and what needs to happen. Mr Will Poole was very personable and made me feel really positive about the upcoming surgery I will need, the elements to focus on before and after. I learnt absolutely loads from Mr Will Poole during my consultations. Being a younger person discussing hip replacements and other surgery in this area has been tough to deal with personally for me as im a young(ish) rugby player who keeps active and Mr Will Poole eased all of my apprehension and made me feel really comfortable throughout our discussions. I can absolutely recommend Mr Will Poole as a consultant to anyone who needs to discuss their hip and other surrounding issues.

HCA should be proud of the quality of patient staff. I was well looked after well by everyone. I sincerely hope reviews like this are picked up and the staff in question are praised DIRECTLY by MANAGEMENT (as I know that Mr Haq gives them feedback). All too often I see pictures of management and statements of values etc but the front facing staff don’t get the praise and recognition they deserve. I have full confidence in Mr Haq who gave me full confidence in the care and health actions throughout the process. I also single out Dr Robert Gardiner (spelling?) who showed quick thinking, attentiveness and high emotional intelligence when I was in the drop in clinic leading to hospital admission.

The physiotherapist seemed unconcerned by the pain I have been experiencing for nearly a year. He mentioned that I had full movement and so he was not concerned. He kept saying that he would not give me another steroid injection without acknowledging that I didn’t want one. He told me to do some exercises which he showed me how to do once and gave me no paperwork or YouTube link that might assist when I got home. I tried to ask how long I should wait before I made any further action and he said there is no more treatment. I felt like an inconvenience and wish I had gone somewhere else. I would never recommend anyone to see him again. He really made me feel small and insignificant.

Reception staff were very helpful both on arrival and when leaving the centre. The medical staff were very knowledgeable & took time to explain everything that would be part of the procedures. The doctor and his team of nurses worked very well together, a well run team. I liked the idea that a nurse remained beside me throughout all the procedures, explaining things as they happened. The recovery room nurse was very attentive and very helpful in her explanation of the printouts following the procedures. The discharge staff in the discharge waiting room provided a very welcome cup of tea and a slice of toast. I had been fasting for over 24 hours by that stage.

The arrangements for my appointment were clear and I was able to park easily. The waiting area was clean and comfortable and staff at every level were kind, helpful and polite. Mr. Bahl has helped me so much to overcome a problem which was severely impacting upon my life and reducing my confidence for social contact. He has been very clear about all issues and risks so that, when I underwent surgery, I was clear about what outcome I might experience. The plan for going forward is clear and, at every turn, I have received information which has helped me to feel a full participant in my treatment plan. I valued Mr Stafford's absolute clarity and professionalism at all times. From the German health system, I wasn't used to be taken too seriously with my views, needs and concerns, so, I had previously experienced a lot of frustration. Mr Stafford and his entire team not only achieved excellent results through the operation and after-care, but made me feel I was in charge, was being very well looked after and put in a position where I could confidently go home post op and manage. The healing process seems amazingly fast. I do recommend Mr Stafford's services!

I have had other surgery’s is the past and it hasn’t always been clear as to exactly what the damage was and what steps were needed in order to fix the issue but this time different. Really great experience seeing Daniel at Physio Jack Studios. He took the time to go through my symptoms, and identified the likely issue. The explanation of exercises were clear, both in the session, and the written info that followed. The follow-up session was useful to review progress, and Daniel suggested some helpful steps to try and prevent the issue recurring.

Have been coming here since Sept 2025 for a cataract op, unfortunately unsuccessful. Have been treated for over a year including paying £2K for a steroid injection in my right eye. The CMO has not gone and I still suffer from distorted vision which is adversely affecting my vision and enjoyment in watching sport and playing golf.
