on arrival everything went well and the service was very quick. It was also very busy Unfortunately, on meeting the Doctor, it appeared that he was telling me what I had learned from a meeting four days previously. On checking he found the appointment had been replicated. I thought that I was appearing to hear from the surgeon who would be carrying out my operation and I was very disappointed to hear that I was not I had just made a 20 mile journey to arrive which turned out to be a complete waste of my time and the Doctors. I asked him how long it would be before I would receive a date for my operation and he suggested it would be probably be between sin and eight months. I left with no apology and on leaving somebody else was “ thanking” the department for wasting her time. I wondered how often this happened and whether it was a private hospital trying to get patients to perhaps consider going private instead of waiting for such a long time. I would not want it to be taken up with the doctor in case he is the person who carries out my op!

On 16.09.25 I underwent a left THR under the care of Mr Shakokani and his Team at Bury St Edmunds (BMI) Hospital. I was extremely anxious but cannot express how happy I am with the care that I was given by everyone. From the first time I spoke to Sheena for pre-op appointments, my stay in hospital, to my post op review, all staff have been so caring. The operation was very successful and I am currently 5 weeks post op and already mobilising carefully without crutches. I saw Mr Shakokani for my review this week and he explained everything very clearly and answered any questions I had making me feel very appreciative of being under his care. I am really looking forward to getting back to normal, pain free. Thank you so much to Mr Shakokani and his wonderful team.

Steven was really understanding of my situation and after he'd looked at my shoulder was able to show me on my MRI scans, the nature of my problem and the other complications which would affect my treatment and outcome. He did this in a very straight forward but precise way that gave me a full understanding of my injury and other matters relating to it. He then outlined the my treatment options and gave me the reasoning behind each treatment and finally recommended the only viable treatment. Whilst it was not pleasant to hear his prognosis, he delivered it in a frank and reasoned way. I would not hesitate to see him again if I needed to.

My appointment was with Dr Natasha Davidson. She was so friendly and really helpful to me. She helped me like no other doctor has. She has sent my GP a letter to prescribe the medications Metformin and Provera. I have been to so many appointment explaining that I have no periods but no one has helped me until Dr Davidson. She also explained in detail PCOS for me and discussed my fertility issues with me. She has said I should book in for an Ultrasound to check the lining of my womb. She made sure I left the appointment with all questions answered. Thank you so much

When discussing appointments on the phone they went out of their way to be flexible and try and make appointments work around my busy diary.
