I actually did not get to use the facilities in the private wing of Charing Cross Hospital, as I was seen in neurophysiology on level three of the NHS departments. The only time I had to go up to the 15th floor was to get two forms, stamped and provide my pre-authorisation number that meant getting in a crowded lift and riding up to the 15th floor, which took a very long time as the lift stopped on nearly every floor. Then I had to go back down to level three for tests. It was actually quite stressful for someone with my health conditions to do this, and to be expected to do this administration as the patient!. The waiting area in the NHS department was not relaxing, it was very hot, no natural light was had limited/poor ventilation and the receptionist was quite rude. The medical staff were more polite. When I pay for private healthcare, I prefer to stay in the private department than in the crowded NHS areas. I gather on this occasion the tests were not available in the private wing, but perhaps another hospital where the consultant worked would’ve been able to accommodate. I was not informed that the tests would be in the NHS department.

I had an excellent experience with Mr Sacheen Kumar as part of a coordinated operation involving three surgeons all completing separate procedures. From the outset, he was highly professional, approachable, and reassuring. He took the time to provide a clear and detailed overview of the procedure he would be performing and patiently answered my long list of questions without ever making me feel rushed. What truly stood out was his commitment to patient care. Mr Kumar went above and beyond to align his schedule with the other two surgeons, working late into the evening, to ensure the operation could proceed as planned. Despite heading off on holiday shortly afterwards, he still made the effort to visit me post the operation over the weekend. This level of dedication and professionalism was greatly appreciated and made a significant difference to my overall experience. I would highly recommend Mr Kumar.

As I was not in London at the time of the injury, he immediately accommodated an online consultation and ensured continuity of care until I could return. Over the summer, my travel schedule was complicated and unpredictable, yet Dr Berber was consistently flexible and responsive, arranging follow-up appointments and imaging around my movements. He and his team proactively coordinated scans to closely monitor progress, always with the aim of minimising intervention while ensuring proper healing. His readiness to adapt, combined with clear communication and careful clinical judgment, made a potentially stressful situation feel very well managed. I am extremely grateful for his professionalism, availability, and thoughtful approach to care.

Jenna was scheduled for surgery on the Tuesday morning. Everything was explained to us in detail. I had no concerns - all of the staff including Mr. Jewsbury dealt with her in a really calm and confident manner which made her not worry too much. She was taken down first thing in the morning and we were out early afternoon with clear instructions. Her eye has healed really nicely and we’ve got no concerns and overall what could have been a really stressful experience for Jenna was actually quite calm and controlled because of all the staff and particularly Mr Jewsbury. She was quite anxious going in but everyone made her feel very comfortable

I have had various symptoms of perimenopause over the last year or so but it came to a head a few months ago when i had a severe panic attack and seemed to develop anxiety. I am finding this difficult to cope with and the GP didn't seem to help me. I met with Dr Colquhoun and she was lovely, provided me with alot of information and advice and took me and my symptoms seriously. As a result I now have a course of action and have had HRT prescribed and a coil fitted. Whilst this is all new to me, i am feeling very positive about this plan and hopeful that I can start to feel like myself again!

Howard is extremely articulate as well as friendly with an excellent “bedside manner”. He is very thorough in obtaining a full history that could potentially impact any diagnosis. The explanation of prognosis and any further action is extremely clear and easy to understand. He and his team are very efficient and obviously care greatly for their patients. My personal issue was a spot on my lung, which following a CT scan is likely benign, but will now be monitored going forward. The whole process was very reassuring for me.

Karen was so lovely to speak with over the phone regarding my daughter’s issues that’s she’s had with eczema and allergies. I thought it would be a 10 minute check in but the call with Karen lasted the hour. I did not feel rushed and my concerns were listened to. Karen gave really great advise around adding things to diet that may help my little one and reminding me of all the things I can incorporate to ensure I am covering all food groups and possible allergens. I had a very large ovarian cyst. At my first pre-op appointment, Ms Lou talked me through the scan. Putting my nerves to rest, explaining the procedure. We knew, I was in good hands. On the day of my operation, miss Lou spoke to me before and after. I am so grateful of the care I received throughout and to have a lovely chat, on the phone, three weeks after my operation with Ms Ying Yiing Lou to see how I was doing was a great comfort. Thank you to Ms Lou and all her staff.

I think the Doctors Lounge is such a great personal investment. You are able to see a doctor quickly, they have all your notes in front of them and have excellent referal doctors should you need further support. I cannot recomend Dr. Nik Chopra and his team more highly. It also means you take pressure off your local GP who can then spend their time with patients who need to use the NHS service. Think outstanding service and value for money.

From start to finish the whole team we're so lovely and professional! The Administration team, the Nurses and all the Consultants are so knowledgeable and really make you feel at ease. Would highly recommend this establishment for any procedures they offer!
