My experience began with an O/P appt with Mr Horsburgh for a possible kidney issue, and led to me having three operations on both kidneys for significant stone/ mineral deposits, which were causing me considerable problems. The process from start to finish was seamless, with every dept working together to ensure there were no delays in the pathway (scans, blood tests, specialist urine analysis, three in-patient stays, follow up from surgery etc), which I have seen so rarely in NHS facilities. This level of efficiency and care gave me a real sense of trust in both the staff and the process, which reduced my stress levels throughout (and the whole process took less than 4 months). it was also very clear that every professional (from surgeon on) had excellent clinical skills, experience and commitment. The most important feedback relates to the level of compassion and care offered me by Mr Horsburgh and every one of his team (both inpatient and outpatient); I was made to feel like a unique individual with unique needs, rather than just being another patient. The importance of this must not be underestimated, as it has, in my opinion, the biggest impact on minimising distress and supporting recovery. I can't fault the service I received.

Mr Farid truly went above and beyond for me. After being diagnosed with cholecystitis in December and spending a week in hospital, I was eager to seek quick help. Shahid came highly recommended to me - and I’m so glad he did! From the first consultation, it was clear that he was on the ball and was able to fit me in for surgery faster than I’d hoped. My initial hospital experience in December had left me a little shaken, but with Mr Farid I finally felt like I was in safe hands. My operation ended up being a little more tricky than anticipated (or so I’m told!), which makes me even more thankful that I went with a good surgeon. The experience at Spire Hospital Leeds was also top notch, with absolutely wonderful staff (and a great lunch menu!). Mr Farid checked in on me frequently on recovery, which was highly appreciated. I am now recovering well at home.

I have visited Dr Pragati Kakkar on multiple occasions and will continue to do so , I have never felt more comfortable and reassured in the whole 10 years of me and my husband trying to conceive our first child . I can honestly say with 100% confidence you will not be disappointed and Dr Kakkar is the most kind and highly knowledgeable professional you need in your corner for all these sensitive matters, she genuinely wants to help you in any way she can , even if that means her staying late or fitting you in last minute she is truly amazing and one of a kind ! Initially I decided to come and see Mr Biswas after reading excellent reviews about him and noting that he had retrained to be a Urogynaecologist, , specialising in Pelvic organ prolapse. I travelled a good distance to see him but felt that this would be worth it, to see an expert in this field. He was extremely caring and pleasant and explained thoroughly about all eventualities that may happen in surgery. Post surgery he took the time to come and see me whilst in hospital on more than one occasion and was genuinely caring. Overall I felt very confident for him to carry out the procedure and so far have been very pleased with the outcome. Thank you Mr Biswas

We received an excellent level of care and support. The doctor was able to assess my daughter and provide a diagnosis on the same day, which brought us much-needed clarity and reassurance after a very difficult few weeks. They were incredibly supportive, gentle and sensitive with my daughter, taking the time to explain clearly what was happening in a way that she could understand without feeling frightened or overwhelmed. We felt listened to throughout. The offer to support us further, including attending a video call with her school to help plan her return, was above and beyond what we expected and made us feel we were not navigating this alone.

He linked things together so it all made sense rather than feeling overwhelming. My experiences at the Lister hospital were generally positive. The facilities are clean and modern. The wait time was variable but generally ok. There wasn't much continuity in the nursing and sonography staff I saw which is a shame, and the quality was variable, but in general most of my experiences were with skilled and knowledgeable staff. On a few occasions I wasn't entirely confident in the nurse or sonographer treating me.

Answering phones is a big concern, wait times are awful, also communication between departments needs looking at, several times and on several occasions appointments double booked and cancelled and no communication back to me that it has happened. Several wasted journeys
